So very sad to learn that Tottys Teas has closed. It was such a lovely cafe: a warm welcome, beautiful setting and delicious homemade cakes. This place will always be special to me after the lady who worked and baked there shared with me her recipe for making Victoria Sponge, which I was never successful with, and when I tried her recipe it came out perfect! The closure of Tottys Teas is a real loss ?

My wife and I came here for an afternoon tea. We had the takeaway box and it was fantastic. Really sweet and novel idea. Even took one away for my mother in law. Great surroundings and charming staff too.

Lovely Afternoon Tea birthday celebration yesterday. Beautifully presented. Friendly staff. We're new to the area, a great find, looking forward to returning in better weather. Highly recommend.

Nice quaint place friendly staff. Just a little confused why we got scramble egg on toast after the conversation we had about Friday lol. But still was nice.

We came here for a first visit yesterday for lunch and were delighted. It was easy to park and the setting was lovely by the canal. The lady who runs the place was so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The homemade food was outstanding- especially the cakes. All precautions for Covid-19 had been taken. The setting is perfect if you want to take a stroll by the canal or the reservoir after eating. Highly recommended- particularly thanks to the charming lady who served us and was very friendly. Will be back!

We were here on a gorgeous sunny afternoon and broke our no-carb diet to have scones with jam and clotted cream and cake; I had chocolate and my partner had coffee. The homemade cakes and scones are 5 star, lovely English - as opposed to the made-with-oil American variety - chocolate cake with loads of chocolate buttercream and topped off with chocolate buttons, wonderful. Scones obviously freshly made that day and served with jam and clotted cream. There was not a huge variety of cakes but the fruit cake and shortbread looked just as good as the ones we chose. Our coffee was forgotten and we had to remind the very friendly and helpful lady to get it for us - but she was on her own and was a little flustered as she didn't normally do the serving at the front as she was the baker of the wonderful cakes. The coffee was far too strong and the cappuccino seemed to be of the push-button variety rather than from an espresso machine. Next time we'll have tea but the cake and scones are what mattered to me and they're ace.

We have stopped several times recently for take-away tea or coffee and cake, and excellent they have been. Before they return to indoor service, the offer is tables outside in the somewhat untidy and traffic affected yard, and while this serves its purpose, it’s not what it could be. Even so, if you’re boating to Welford or taking one of the beautiful walks in the area, do put a stop at Totty Teas into your plan.

Ordered two Takeaway Afternoon Teas which we ate sitting on the canal bank later in the afternoon. Excellent food, elegantly packaged and really superb value.

En route from Suffolk to Leicester on the A14 & looking for quick stop for tea Well what a find! Although horrible cold day sun coming through large windows Only a few tables but very welcoming & as we hadn’t had lunch & not eating until 8pm opted for their Afternoon Tea.... Well, again....all homemade...and so much that they gave us “doggy bags” to take home the shortbread, chocolate brownies & scone we wouldn’t eat! Ignore the sat nav telling you to park up the hill, parking available on site And I’m sure with better weather & more time walks available from Tea Shop
