This was our first time visiting The White Lion, only a short walk from the canal. Wow, what a find. The pub was nicely decorated and furnished with brilliant Halloween decorations. The lady behind the bar was a bit quirky but other than that, the service was good. The roast was amazing; lovely tender beef with copious vegetables. They even brought a separate gravy boat. We had a Sunday lunch for 4 today. I must say I did enjoy the vegetarian option of the mushroom Wellington! The others had chicken roast. Service was very attentive and all the staff were super friendly. We all liked the old feel of the pub. It's clean and well presented. We are coming back on Thursday for the early bird menu.
