Decent enough wee spot. Been here a couple of times and food is pretty good. Staff are friendly and the restaurant is clean and tidy. Sunday lunch is good value - 20 quid for 2 courses which is standard enough pricing nowadays. Also have a grill menu if you dont fancy the set lunch. Always seems busy which is a good sign.

Food was bland and I didn't enjoy it. All of the chicken ordered was very dry apart from the starter of salted chilli chicken which was delicious, the only reason for the stars. Cocktails weren't great- I couldn't drink mine and the others left theirs. Expensive for what it is. Staff weren't very friendly (apart from one girl in the whole place with loads of staff). I personally wouldn't recommend it.

We always enjoy our visits to Jake’s, but tonight was far beyond the usual five star service - the food was amazing, the service was superb, but what took it that bit further was how two of the wonderful staff members helped my grandmother to her seat and then back to our car.She has very poor mobility and is deathly afraid of falling. As a result, she has stayed indoors and missed out on so many opportunities to visit restaurants and shops. She has admitted how lonely these past few years have been, and finally agreed to come out today with myself and my mum, who is visually impaired. Trying to aid two people with different impairments and disabilities can be quite a handful for just one person, but these amazing staff members really made this evening a delight and has solidified Jake’s as our family’s personal favourite eatery. I can’t thank the staff enough.

Very disappointed, would have always recommended to anyone but tonight was a disaster. Table booked for 7.15 wasn’t eating until 8.30. Far too long a wait for my 3 year old granddaughter. Son’s steak returned to kitchen, over cooked, husband brought his home with him as he couldn’t eat it practically raw when he requested medium to well. Onion rings could have been rang out as so greasy and chilli chips had no chilli. Out for my son’s 21st birthday dinner don’t think I’ll be rushing back for a while. No one even asked how things were. Bill 159.00 so wasn’t cheap either
