My absolute favourite place to go for food. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Deep fried Brie starter, and chicken korma with naan bread both were absolutely gorgeous.

Visited here with my wife and 2 teenagers in October. We had 4 full breakfasts and they were delicious. Tea and toast included. Friendly staff and very clean restaurant. Highly recommended.

My wife and I have eaten in the Buttery on a number of occasions, and have always enjoyed the food. We brought our son and his fiancée for a meal one Sunday evening, and as always we couldn’t fault the food. Unfortunately my son’s fiancée had to return her drink as there was lipstick on her glass. The waitress simply transferred her drink to another glass and returned it to the table. I find this unacceptable, especially in the middle of a pandemic. She asked for a fresh drink in a clean glass. The owner/manager came back to the table with the replacement drink and abruptly set it down on the table. She didn’t speak and made no attempt to apologise. I am disappointed at this apparent lack of customer service, where a simple apology would have been graciously accepted, as we totally accept that these things happen from time to time. As a result of this we will not be back.

Booked table arrived on time. Sat down waited at least 15 minutes before I approached member of staff and asked could we order. In response felt like I was scolded for asking as I was told there was tables before me. We ordered food two children's meals containing chips. I asked could I have adult portion of chips as a side was told point blank no as they are not served to tea time. I said but children are getting chips we just wanted a portion her response yet again no. Needless to say I will never be back nor recommend to others
My friend and her partner joined my husband and I in the Buttery in Markethill on Friday. We all had the steak meal for two priced at £39.99 per couple for 2 courses. The steaks were done to perfection and we all had no complaints. The service was very good and we all enjoyed our evening
