I left this pub right after I ordered a pint. I saw an older bouncer kicking out a gay guy just for dancing a little more flamboyant than everyone else. That was disgusting and I left after seeing that happening.

Would go to mckennas regularly as it's not as packed out as devlins and you can move in it. This is until last night when I bought drinks that should have came to £12 (what I was being charged all night and the average price of the drinks i had got) and I watched the barman (mid 50's?) with grey hair type in £18 for my drink on the till and use contactless on my card without asking my permission. It was pretty hectic at the bar but I thought that it was completely innapropriate to use my card without telling me the price and just handing it back to me after tapping it. (I did try to tell him but he had went and served someone else straight after handing my card to me so I just took my drinks and left and went to another bar after) I work at another bar in the town and would never do this. Last time I'll be paying mckennas a visit, devlins may be packed but at least they will come and confirm the price of drinks with you and ask you can they use contactless on your card.

McKenna's has been one of the most popular bars in Armagh for decades, hence it's often extremely busy so you need to arrive early to get a seat. A family-run pub established in Armagh since 1884 and amusingly the wifi password is FROM1884. It's still owned and run today by the McKenna family. Bar staff are super-efficient whilst the bar is well stocked with Prosecco, wine, spirits and beer. There's a broad mix of age groups but on Saturday night the crowd definitely veers towards consisting of twentysomethings. A lively pub filled with music, banter and high spirits. Decor is an unusual cross of modern and old-fashioned. A traditional dark-wood bar is juxtaposed with rich purple and sharp green which feature heavily in the colour scheme. McKenna's pub is also popular for private parties for which they provide entertainment and food free of charge - superb value for money!
