Great staff very friendly, we had a few drinks and we all had lunch, food was well presented and very tasty, and reasonably priced, if you are ever in Ballycastle I'd definitely recommend The Central for the food the atmosphere and the friendly staff

Came here for lunch, great friendly service, food was OK. Came back in the evening to watch rugby match. Great atmosphere and the group after were great. Didn't stay for long though. Food is average but friendly staff.

The waiter acted annoyed when asked about the options for soda or beer. If you don't want this question, put up a menu. Some of the served food wasn't what we ordered. We ordered the Black bean stir fry and got a chili dish. The salad was supposed to have baked goat cheese, but it had something out of a tube.Personally I'm not a fan of having TV screens in a cafe, but I realise that's personal preference. The rest of the interior looked really nice and offered comfortable sitting.

Meal was ok Service was poor. Overall staff were not very friendly or accommodating a family of 5 with 3 young children. There are nicer places to eat in Ballycastle

I think this is maybe the second bad review I’ve ever written but felt the need to after a really terrible experience last week. We went in and the place was very quiet only 2 or 3 other tables. We ordered our food and drinks. When our starters came a starter was missing and we still hadn’t got the water for the table I’d asked for. When we got the last starter I re-ordered the water. The starters were a let down for the whole table, poor bad quality food. The finished starters sat on the table for 15 minutes before being lifted. I had Turkey and ham for main, the ham was like rubber I couldn’t believe how bad it was, completely turned me off my food. Other family members commented on sides being cold. Still no water came to the table so I asked a third time and finally it came. Shocking service and very poor food. Starters were £8-£10 each which I could have got past but they weren’t even average. The whole place was also freezing as they left the door open all day. No toilet roll or soaps in the bathroom and also a bad smell. Will never return

Had food here Friday and Saturday of the Armoy Road racing weekend. Both evenings we top class. Food could not be faulted. Big portions, good service, friendly staff, reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend and will visit again.Vegetarian options: Options are good on menu.

Woeful experience had here as a family. Overpriced menu for sub- standard food. I had ordered the goats cheese and beetroot salad which sounded lovely from the description on the menu, hence why I ordered it. Cannot believe what was served. Hardly any salad leaves and I think one slice of beetroot cut into miniscule cubes. Very poorly presented and when I asked where the apple and Port chutney was that was to come with it, the server was not sure so went to check with the kitchen. Did not return untill 20mins later with a ramekin of sliced apple with some sort of purple fluid over it (pic included). Although she did apologise for the wait saying no-one could find the chutney! So I'm not exactly sure what they found and served. Needless to say it was not touched. My daughter who had ordered traditional fish and chips, had to be sent back as the fish was raw. Another one was served but by this stage my daughter had lost her appetite. Just wish I had read the previous reviews before we had stepped through the door of The Central. Will not be returning!

Everything here was just okay. We ordered a drink and there was hardly any booze in it. The food was adequate but not up to Ireland standards. It felt like an American meal. Frozen --- shipped in --- and thrown together.
A group booking, great variety on menu. Everyone enjoyed their meals, freshly made, plenty of food and very tasty. Am enjoyable night and lovely staff.

Used to go regularly to the central and food was good. Last couple of times it has been less than average. Food has went down hill badly. Side salad with lasagne is basically some lettuce from what tasted like a bag of salad leaves from spar. Lasagne was dried out and reheated. The whole bar just seems grubby and in need of a good clean. Some staff are good others look like they don't want to be there. Won't be back.

Such a fun evening at Central Bar. Our family stopped in for a late dinner at this lovely pub. Two ordered the steak sandwich and gave it rave reviews. Live music on a Tuesday evening had the bar joining in and a full dance floor.

It's a cool pub, I love the wood work and the inventory. The food was okay, the Guinness was poured quite well but the service wasn't that nice. Okay all in all.

As soon as we walked in, I was taken away by the magical atmosphere. The tables were packed with conversation and delicious smelling food.I had a gorgeous fish pie with a beautiful cheesy mash topping - it felt like a perfect dinner in a Northern Irish coastal town. I finished the evening with a sticky toffee pudding, which was to die for!I would say, however, we were slightly disappointed by the service. We were asked on three different occasions to confirm our desserts and my partner had to wait about twenty minutes to be given the bill.
