I just bought a fish supper here and it was dreadful . It cost £10.60 and was very greasy , all batter and hardly any fish . I don’t know how it has won any awards based on what I got . Hardly any chips as well …very poor , won’t be going back …..Kid-friendliness: Was ok

Amazing scampi and chips - the batter on the scampi was a delight. Tartare sauce would have been a nice addition. Nice friendly staff and very good value.

I love fish and chips and I have to say these were the best we’ve had for a very long time! Can’t fault the staff, service, cleanliness and the main event, The Food! Batter was light and delicious, fish was pure white and flaky and the chips were delicious. We had mushy peas and curry sauce on the side and can’t fault those either. Regular free top ups of tea were an added bonus ?? We’ll be back very soon.

Had some fish and chips here last night while staying in Broughshane. Can see why it won an award. Fish/Chips/mushy peas and the scampi were all cooked perfectly. Would highly recommend this shop?

Places an order by phone for collection. Advised 10 minutes. Nearly 30 minutes. Chips and fish were nice but I had kept best for last. The meat pasties. However when I bite into it so disappointed it was a peppery potato thing. A most disappointing end to the meal.

Today I went on a hike to Trostan mountain and on my way home to Downpatrick I stopped in Ballymena and went to Merchant's. It was superb. Staff were very friendly and welcoming and the fish and chips was delicious. If I'm ever in Ballymena again I will definately go back for some more yummy grub. :)

Stopped and grabbed a couple of cod fish suppers and a battered sausage for our tea on the way back from the North Coast on Sunday evening. Delicious, as always. Kids gobbled up their fish. Yum. ?

We visited today as a large group of ASD children and parents. Firstly, the food was absolutely outstanding, but far more importantly the staff were so lovely, and very understanding of our children and their sometimes loud and slightly rowdy behaviour. They were nothing but kind, attentive and nothing was too much trouble. I’m just sorry I can only give 5 stars, they deserve so much more.
