Our go to is the chicken bites. The price for these continues to increase but the portion size has decreased. We were here recently and was shocked when we got home and opened the box. *Amended - We tried the chicken bites again and each chicken bite was larger ??

First time eating here after reading some positive online reviews. I had time to kill and was hungry and in the area for other reasons, so I went to cafe fish for my favourite fast food…a haddock supper! The place appeared clean with pleasant enough staff and the food smelled great.I was parked across the road so my plan was to eat in the car instead of the cafe. I waited approximately 15 minutes on my order and was served when ready with a mannerly member of staff. The fish and chips were presented in a small box and then placed inside a brown paper bag…great, no plastic to make the dish soggy from sweating in its own steam. I then took my supper to the car to eat. The dish wasnt seasoned enough to my liking and I would have preferred some additional salt and vinegar to be provided, but there was none. The chips were a bit too greasy and not crispy enough, so poor to average. 2/5 score for them. The fish was a major let down. Soggy batter missing in places and falling off the fish so much so, that the dish turned into fish chips and soggy batter on the side. The fish was also overcooked and dry. 1/5 score for the battered fish. This is one of my favourite dishes and I try it anywhere I go to compare. I have to say I will not be back here for some time and will be advising my friends to avoid. Go to John Longs or fish city!

It is with a heavy heart that I have to leave this review.I have been a loyal customer here for over 20 years but I guess "Shrinkflation" has finally caught up to this place in these troubled times.£6.95 for a measly morsel that is less than half the size it used to be.Got home and my heart sank on opening the box ?Two pathetic little slivers of fish and a small handful of chips.

Called into Cafe Fish on Lisburn Road on way home from evening out in Belfast. While the food was good our accompanying tea and attitude of female staff member who served us to table was anything but!! Our tea arrived with white pieces floating on surface (looked like the milk was off). Pointed this out to lady who had served us. Her reply was it wasn’t off she had just opened the milk. When I asked her if she could get us fresh teas, she reiterated that the milk was fresh and told us to try it as she walked off. Wouldn’t be rushing back given this staff attitude

Undoubtedly the best fish & chip shop in Northern Ireland. Food is always cooked to perfection, the owners & their staff are so friendly and accommodating. Can not recommend enough & wouldn’t go anywhere else for fish & chips. Thank you ?
