Wine Bars in Belfast

“Cost an arm and a leg! But good all round experience for a special occasion.Really enjoyed having a front and centre view of the kitchen, didn’t really appreciate the frantic pace that is involved in a high end kitchen.Food was excellent.Went for the full works with wine parings included. After 2 cocktails and 5 glasses of wine the tasting experience was maybe lost somewhat, although completely self inflicted!”

“Perfect place for a glass of Puglian white, some remoulade, gougeres, tapenade and charcuterie. The quality of the food is excellent, using local Irish producers with high standards. Service is professional and knowledgeable. The ambience is ideal for a small get together, or larger gathering. Ox Cave, and Ox, are Belfast jewels.”

“The most professional, polite, and perfect wait staff in the world. Views are spectacular. I would be financially ruined if I had easy access to this place. It is an upscale experience that exceeds all expectations.”

“I sauntered into this establishment with my family friend and we’re greeted to a warm buzz of people and modern decor.I ordered the chefs special “chipotle” scampi as a starter. Although the word chipotle implies a spicy taste this dish was not at all, in fact the inverse as it was drenched in dressing. The family friend ordered Seafood Chowder. The portion size was generous but lacked flavour. She would have preferred more depth to the dish.I had the steak sandwich which was artfully prepared however it is not a sandwich as it lacks the top piece of bread. I think though that the dish was better for it as the amount of bread was just right. Steak was tender and chips werevery good. Crisp fluffy in the middle.Overall 4/5.”

“We regularly eat in Scalinis as my it is my daughter's favourite restaurant. I've always loved the food although the service can be hit or miss. Only downside now is that there has been an increase in prices however the portions are significantly smaller - disappointing.”

“Food was great. Relaxed, easy going atmosphere. Only thing that let it down was the service. Had to ask for knives and forks when the dinner came out. Had to remind them we ordered a side and then also go looking for the drinks. Wouldn't stop me going back. Great food and thankfully the chef realises you need a slice of bread with muscles.”
