I called in to meet a friend this morning, lovely bar, the staff are super friendly, and one barmaid, in particular, was an absolute peach. I will definitely visit again.

Love the place, it serves Opengate ipa. Would give it more stars bar the fact the barman refused to serve me last summer as I had my very well behaved 3 yo grandson with me. Allegedly customers don't like kids!! Last saturday there were many kids in and even behind the bar. Not complaining about them, they were well behaved and having fun. The licensee should make a judgement on this. Many people day trip to Whitehead with family and would enjoy a drink and a soft one for the youngsters. As a one pub town the Whitecliff should do very well rather than pander to a very terse seemingly unhappy ignorant employee with zero customer relationship skills. These observations are made from early to late afternoon visits . As it stands I hope the under repair club at the seafront will serve Opengate when it reopens.
