Unfortunately I am giving the lowest mark as they really didn’t deal professionally at all with our issue. The place is welcoming and the waitresses were charming. We both started with a seafood chowder which was pleasant. However, our main course dish was not edible as the halibut was so overcooked, far too dry and rubbery. We both felt exactly the same way and were not prepared to eat an expensive dish that was inedible. We therefore returned the dish and the waitress came back to ask if we wanted something else instead and we ordered a separate dish. A few minutes later, another waitress came and said that the chef is adamant that it is the right way to cook fish, that halibut is a meaty fish and that if we wanted to order something else, we would have to pay for it. Alternatively, they could give us back our (overcooked) halibut. We declined, paid and left. Sadly, the chef never came to our table to discuss the issue and I find it astonishing that an experienced chef would deal with unsatisfied customers in this way and that he wouldn't recognise when a piece of fish is not cooked the right way. I would like to point out that throughout all this, the waitresses were very courteous and apologetic. However, we will know where not to go next time.

My own business is based around service and the staff here are fantastic. The food was superb to top it all off. A lovely wee old fashioned village setting so don’t expect a big commercial emotionless box setting. Top notch!

Prearranged a tasting menu with Julie restaurant manager who was very accommodating. Arrived to a lovely welcome. Tasting menu with different courses available to view on table. Ambiance in restaurant relaxed. All courses were amazing standard of food and presentation excellent and no rush between courses. Chef Abraham visited table to ensure all OK. Service excellent . Would recommend this experience.

We had lunch here while exploring the village. Service was good, as was food. The fav was definitely the fish pie. The chips were great, but the fish was a bit soggy. My soup was bland but the salad was great. Great place for a country village!

It's not often I leave a restaurant saying "complements to the chef" but it was truly well deserved. I had my birthday dinner and the food was exceptional. I had the Pork Belly and it was perfectly done and really nicely presented. Everyone in our party cleared their plates and raved about how nice it was.The deserts were incredible - I can still taste the lovely chocolate fondant chef special and they did a good Irish Coffee too - always a good sign. The staff were lovely and attentive and the restaurant has a nice feel to it with the cosy pub out the back should you want to make a long evening of it! Sadly we couldn't with a two year old in tow. We'll be back and it was good value for money given the quality of the food served.

Amazing food and service especially the vegan gluten free option but also the locally sourced gorgeously presented fish and meat dishes. Very warm and helpful staff. Heartily recommend it.

We had a family dinner event with them tonight which included 10 kids. That means a lot of chaos to deal with and the staff took it all in their stride! The 2 ladies running the show were so kind and patient and nothing was a problem for them. The food was delicious! So well presented and came out quickly and piping hot! Thank you so much for dealing with the madness! Will highly recommend to others ?
