My friend & I went to Fontana for the first time and we both loved it. The food was delicious & the service was amazing! I’m already planning my next visit!

Had a beautiful meal in Fontana on NYE with our children and my parents. One of our favourite restaurants - always great food and service. Have been going for years.

The steak was 5* cooked to perfection, but the vegetarian and vegetable side order options could be better, but overall, very good food. The staff were very attentive and friendly. Thanks.Vegetarian options: Nicely cooked but could do more for vegetarians.

Just ok …. Last minute booking and appealed to try based on its TA rating Food was fine but nothing special I’m afraid. Service was great. Just all together a little underwhelming Experience. A lot better nearby in Holywood. Would like to see the Michelin experience. Will try again.

A Simply sublime experience. This was not our first visit here & I’m loath to rate this restaurant too highly, as it will only get busier ?. But honesty must prevail. From the moment we entered we could feel the warmth, both of the welcome and the atmosphere. Our server was friendly, attentive and knew the menu items well.My wife had the prawn risotto which was fresh, herby with fennel oil, warm from some chilli & full of prawns. I had the duck linguini which was totally unctuous, rich and very more-ish.My wife opted for the ribeye steak with triple cooked chips & some veg. All were cooked perfectly. I had duck breast with duck wonton & dauphinois potatoes.Whilst my wife’s steak was perfect, the duck main was on another level. Perfectly pink & so very tasty. The accompanying wonton were such a different taste too, and the pastry so crispy.Everything was seasoned perfectly. We ended our meal with two very tasty deserts, coffee & a cocktail. The cost was very fair for the quality of food, which I can only describe as exceptionally good.I don’t think we have had as tasty a meal in ages and will definitely be back.

Recently I took my very good friend Liz to Fontana for her birthday , finding this little gem on High Street in Holywood was delightful hidden down a little atmospheric walkway and the very warm welcome was enchanting our host Adam showed us to our table and after we were comfortable he charmed us with his clear knowledge of what was on offer and the daily specials the food was prompt beautifully presented n was equally delicious to taste we had the beef and fish main course all local produce and cooked to perfection accompanied with fresh local vegetables, our wine choice was quality and our host’s recommendation a spainish Rioja was a delight so our experience at Fontana was overwhelmingly a success thank you Adam we will return you team are fantasticPaul n Liz

It’s been a while since I was out in holywood and I forgot how good the food and experience is here. Friendly professional and attentive staff from start to Finnish ! The food was sublime, we had the prawn risotto (I would highly recommend) and the mussels, so good for any fish lovers out there! My friend had the lamb and I had the scallops, the lamb was cooked to perfection and so tender and my scallops seared like no other, the ingredients or magic that they some how add here in their kitchen just brings the food to life I can honestly say I would rate this restaurant as one of the finest in Belfast! Thank you and looking forward to my next experience

Booked here on a recommendation from a friend, and thankful that we did! From we entered until we left, we could not fault a thing. The food we ordered was top notch, service was above par compared to other places we have previously visited. Highly recommend.

Been a while since we visited. 4 of us went there for a birthday celebration. Saturday night and a good atmosphere. Took a while for us to be offered some water; took a longer while for drinks order to be taken; you got it- took an age for food order to be taken. Another long wait for starters to arrive. When they did- at best adequate. One claimed to have caviar- five tiny specs hardly merited their mention on the menu. The mains, when they arrived, were just cooler than lukewarm and pretty tasteless Total bill came to over £300 -totally overpriced for what was served up For a restaurant that we once loved the experience was very disappointing. Poor service and cold food- wouldn’t be motivated to go back.

Visited for dinner on Friday evening 10th Nov. Excellent main meals. I had Pork Belly which was very good but came alive when I asked for a little extra Jus. Mrs W had duck breast which she said was scrumptous. Desserts were Panacotta and cheesecake. Small but perfectly adequate and a perfect conclusion to a great meal. We'd happily recommend this restauraunt to anyone for dinner or indeed lunch. Well done Fontana!

GRIF Issues

Average all round and alot for what it was - atmosphere lacking felt a little like being in a church. Didn't appreciate the 12% gratuity added for a table of 4 then being asked in front of my guests was it ok...

I took my wife to Fontana as a treat while we were in Holywood. It’s a special place to us, as I proposed to her there in 2015 (at table 8, we learned on this latest visit) and had been back in the meantime. As always, the welcome was warm, the service excellent and the food delicious. We can’t wait for our next visit to our favourite Holywood restaurant, hopefully back at table 8!
