Indian Ocean Restaurant
149-153 High St, HolywoodExcellent meal! Has been a while since went out for Indian - my sons choice for his birthday party. Range of different meals and good feedback all around. I went for a tarka dhal main with rice - one of my comfort foods. Very good. As the restaurant is on a busy Main Street parking can be an issue with many of the car parks around being private with threats of clamping - so if you are going keep that in mind re where you park and perhaps leave a bit of time to park up?

Tulsi Indian Restaurant | Indian Takeaway
51 High St, HolywoodI dined in this restaurant last night with my son. I really enjoyed the lovely authentic chilli garlic jumbo prawn curry and wonderful onion bhajees. Topped off with delicious Indian tea which helped digestion Lots of food, very nice service, mannerly waiters. A little dark in the dining room for my liking, but otherwise a very pleasant experience. My test of a good curry is the state of my tummy the next day. It was perfect- no bloating or indigestion. Will certainly be back again.

Pizzini Pizzeria
114 High St, HolywoodWas very hungry and most places closed at 9pm Sunday night. So popped in here as they had a kebab menu. I ordered a chicken tikka kebab. Took dog a walk and called back to collect. The place is very clean and the staff were fine and pleasant with me. The kebab was a good effort for a non kebab place. Large chopped piece of Tandoori tikka chicken breast. Some basic salad and a tub of chilli and a tub of garlic sauce. The chilli was freshly made but hot for me. Pita bread was fine. At £6.00 it was fine and I dispute the previous reviews. Try it.

Eighty One
81 High St, HolywoodWent for lunch recently. The cafe was packed but straight away we were shown to a table. Loved the decor and the very comfortable velvet chairs. Even though they were busy the service was quick and our waitress was very friendly. I got the potato and leek soup with wheaten bread. It was really nice and a big portion. I can see why they had lots of repeat customers!

Alexanders & Co
57 High St, HolywoodWe booked an offer of two cocktails, two small plates and one side between two. Very limited 'small plates' offering, only a choice of 6 dishes and 4 of these were vegetables. Menu on website is different. Chosen dishes of beef cheek and broccoli tempura with side of garlic fries were well cooked and tasty. Lovely cocktails beautifully presented.

Caffè Nero
Unit 1, 70 Lesley Mews, Co Down, HolywoodBeen in and out of said cafe for a good ten years now. Time was when I could manage to get a seat where I wanted. Not much now, as over the years, especially when schoolchildren (with rucksacks & computers) crash in, it looks more like a classroom, with me being told - by some pupils with two tables and three free chairs - that 'They're taken'...but realise the seats will not only remain vacant, but they will get moody and full of attitude if anyone (over the age of eighteen) actually - after watching the table for over a certain time decides to just return to the table, where person in question is playing games either on his computer/cellphone.
