I have visited the diary on many occasion and always had a lovely meal but recently there has been an issue with every visit. A previous visit the chicken was missed in the caesar salad, this was rectified when I sent the salad back and a previous visit prior to this for breakfast the scrambled egg was burnt which was also rectified when I sent it back. Due to us always enjoying our food we have still returned despite the above issues and gave the benefit of the doubt. However again, we did not enjoy our most recent visit to the diary. On the specials menu my husband ordered the steak and Guinness pie, which was not a pie. It arrived more like a steak casserole with a spoonful of mash on the top, no pastry which would you expect from a pie or a full mash topping which you might expect from a cottage pie, however this was already on the menu. We definitely would not have ordered this if we had realised how it was served. We did mention this to the waitress but the response wasn’t great and she didn’t really take the issue on board or resonate with what we were saying. The steak and Guinness was also very salty. At present I think the quality of food is over priced for what is actually being served and there has been too many issues with all our recent visits, which is a shame as I used to enjoy going.

Absolutely delicious meal on Mother’s Day at lunch time. Staff were fantastic, not put off by the busy atmosphere and high pressure. All 4 of us cleared our plates. The Madras chicken burger and spiced cubes were unbelievable- hope to see that as a permanent menu item!

Great restaurant.Attentive staff.Delicious food. Great local shop selling quite an international selection of products.Had the burger- it was all right. The steak sandwich and the peppercorn sauce was amazing. The raspberry and apple crumble was sublime.Upper mid range price wise. Quite a trek to get to but plenty of parking spaces.Would couple this with the local waterfall walk 5 minutes away drive away.Love the woody chic barn feel.

Visited this afternoon with a party of 7. Felt at ease straight away. A friendly welcome, followed by courteous and warm service. The food was gorgeous. We had a mix of Korean Chicken burgers, Daube of beef, steak sandwich, Prawn sandwich and Jerk Chicken. Every single meal was beautiful and hit the spot. Generous helpings with very reasonable prices. We'll worth a trip, but remember to book to avoid disappointment. We will be back for sure.

Beautiful food staff and surroundings. Enjoying a brunch visit. Every meal ordered disappeared, with contented smiles at the end. Could not recommend it highly enough. There is a broad selection on the menu to cater all tastes. Don't forget to browse the Deli. A fantastic range of food and handcraft. Would advise booking to avoid disappointment.

Only been here for pitstops while cycling- but menus offers wide range of hot meals down to scone and traybakes (which are fantastic)Coffee and alcohol served here, lovely outdoor seating aswell as indoor options. Good parking out front and overflow around rear. Serves local produce some of which able to buy from the shop.Great service and highly recommend for diner or a cosy location for coffee and catchup.

Lovely scones and the shop has loads of things you would want to buy, but probably shouldn't, but probably will.

I took my mum here for her birthday recently. The restaurant wasnt busy as it was quite early. The staff were friendly and it was a cosy space. We both had scones and tea. The scones were lighter than air, couldnt recommend them more! Very good value for money also. There is a farm shop too which sells gifts and food. We bought a few things and the prices again were really reasonable.Parking: Car park outside the door, lots of spaces

We were disappointed on a previous visit to this place but decided to give it a second chance. I'm glad we did as the service has greatly improved and the food was thoughtfully presented with nice flavours. The only negative was the wooded chairs which consisted of wooden slats with small gaps between. Most uncomfortable seats ever, maybe some padding with help.

We ate here on my birthday last month. We arrived on spec on a Thursday lunchtime, to find the Restaurant very busy, so we thought it must be good. We got a seats at a high bench. We both had the slow cooked lamb shoulder, and this was to die for. The apple pie and cream for dessert wasn't too bad either! If you're anywhere near, you must go there. ?????

A lovely place food good but charging £1 each for cranberry sauce and horseradish beggars belief ? would put me off going back.
