Just had my husband's 60tth birthday celebrations here on a Sat evening. Catered for 45 of us. Mixture if family and friends. Most had a 2 course meal including 7 steaks. Every steak cooked to perfection to requirements. Generous servings and fantastic service.

Starter and main , was going for a dessert at the start however the food was that bad we skipped the dessert. I know!Sunday Lunch was just awful. The starter goats/feta cheese lightly breadcrumbed didn’t not taste good. Not palatable without the mayo that came with it. The main course of Lamb was mediocre. For a main course to be £20 and the food offered was that I would expect at a buffet at half that price. The vegetables over cooked , the lamb was a little tough with as much moisture as the Sahara dessert. The only thing that saved the main course from being a complete disaster was the side portion of chips which was obviously , extra. Probably why they tasted slightly better than the disappointment of the first two courses. Desserts are never a priority , and you do not be asked about dessert until after the main course, giving you the time to evaluate based on the main course what you expect the dessert will be. Wasted £25 on two courses I did not have it in me to waste another £4. The few people that came in I am sure are not regulars , and if they are be completely honest with them. Tullyglass is not far away and you get way more for your money there and at least come away from it knowing the money was well spent. At least they can pour a drink good though.3/10 - bob n berts with the precooked meat cook it better.Vegetarian options: A healthy dish.. shallow fried..

As always food and service impeccable. Never feel rushed which is great because it's so relaxing. Always bring family to Mary's when they visit and it's a highlight for them aswell. Thank you.

Excellent bar, great food and friendly service. Tamara and her colleagues were very welcoming and provided us with very good menu advice and also guidance on what other bars we should explore while in Magherafelt for two nights with our guests from ‘Essential Ireland Tours’

Bit disappointed overall; meals were okay but a few issues that let the overall experience down. Staff were great; very friendly, attentive and accommodating. Dining room very dark, too dark in places to be able to view and appreciate the food. Main complaints with food were that the tempura batter on the shrimp was a little thick; not as light as expected with a tempura batter, but the lime and pineapple accompaniment was refreshing, flavourful and beautiful. The pork belly starter was delicious. The duck and steak mains were requested to be medium-rare, but duck had to be returned as it was over cooked/well done and the steak was more a medium-well than the medium-rare requested. Despite being over cooked the steak had a lovely smoked taste. However when the second duck arrived, despite specifically requesting for it to be medium-pink inside again it was over cooked, well done and no pink at all. At that stage with sides starting to get cold I decided to just go ahead and eat it than have to send it back again. It wasn’t bad tasting, and as a whole the meal was nice but just disappointed that I’d asked twice for pink duck and twice got over cooked/grey. All sides were lovely, the additional elements of the duck main were very tasty. Sri Lankan sauce unfortunately was a little too salty to enjoy and finish. Desserts were standard, but cheesecake a little bland, stodgy and the fresh cream was over whipped. Overall, service was great, not a bad experience and food was okay, definitely worth a revisit but unfortunately on this occasion left feeling a little disappointed with some elements.

Staff, efficient, friendly and courteous. Decor and atmosphere great. Food very disappointing salt and chilli chicken dry, tasteless no chilli kick, no sauce. Vegan hosin duck the other direction, over powering sauce and not the usual accompaniments expected with this dish. My friend wasn't overly impressed with her burger either. Disappointing visit

I would usually be lucky to find a single vegan dish on the menu at most local restaurants but Mary's actually has a full vegan menu, so it has become my go-to place for a meal. The food is always very good and the staff are well-trained and pleasant. Decent selection of pints available too.Vegetarian options: Full vegan menu available.

Lovely gastro pub in Magherafelt Town. On street parking but there is a great carpark 1 min up the road. Staff were really friendly and helpful (group of 10). They catered to all of our needs, service was prompt and the food was delicious. Would highly recommend a visit if ever in the area.

It was nearly empty when we arrived so that didn't give it a chance to have a great atmosphere. However if it was full , and it's huge I would imagine it could be a great place to visit. Not much from the outside to look at but the food was OK the staff were friendly . I would prefer more choice of salad or fish but what I had was ok .
