I was in not too long ago, just for what I thought would be a lovely meal. The food was good, however, I overheard (who I assume to be the restaurant manager or a supervisor) screaming at a staff member where customers can clearly hear. This is absolutely appalling behaviour and should not occur in a work place privately, or especially in front of customers. Whilst the food itself was good, I will not be returning as the way that man treated his staff members was vile. I’d like to think this will be dealt with accordingly with the man’s position in Doc’s Newcastle being terminated as staff should not have to be treated with such behaviour.

I was recently at docs with my friend and I was shocked by the way a member of staff was treated. I, along with I assume everyone else at the restaurant heard a member of staff who I could only assume would be the manager or the supervisor, yelling at another member of staff. I couldn’t get over what I had heard, it was absolutely shocking to say the least. I believe no member of staff should ever be treated that way, especially when other customers in the restaurant could hear, after this happened my friend and I felt very uncomfortable and we left shortly after and it’s safe to say that I will not be returning when members of staff are being treated this way and I hope for this employee and the rest of the staffs sake that this issue will be dealt with accordingly.

Very friendly staff and a great atmosphere in the cafe. My friend and I ordered the cheese burger and it was incredible, burger cooked to perfection and the fillings were to match. Definitely will be back????

Can't comment on the food as we weren't allowed to order. One of our party has a nut allergy and on mentioning this to the server we were advised that there would be cross contamination due to how food was prepared, and nothing could be done about it so we weren't allowed to order. First time this has ever happened to us anywhere in the UK. Can't understand why this isn't explicitly noted on the menu as we had checked menus beforehand. Enjoyed a really great meal elsewhere in Newcastle where staff could not have been more helpful.

Visited Docs for food last Saturday night, thankfully my partner had phoned and booked ahead as it is a really busy spot (always a good sign). The food was really tasty and the service was fast, exactly what you want when you're starving! Thanks Docs, we will be back when next in Newcastle :)

We stayed in Newcastle for 3 nights and had dinner in Docs twice as it was that good. The menu is really extensive and Pat and his team cannot do enough for you. Although it’s a very busy spot, the atmosphere is relaxed and professional. The food is so fresh and tasty and really reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend it and will be back. Try to get a seat at the window and watch the world go by.

Visited as a party of 8 on a Friday tea time. After a short wait we were seated and drinks taken. Gorgeous food, hot and very yummy. It was busy but no-one seemed rushed and we were well looked after. Will definitely be backKid-friendliness: The kids meals were really nice (not an afterthought) and had good portions. Also able to try a jug of juice instead of lots of different drinks which was a nice easy choice

Have been in 3 times previous and genuinely could not find fault but on our most recent visit everything was just a shambles. First of all the order was wrong the first 3 times, secondly the food was very bland and the lasagne seemed to be reheated, the beef was very chewy and the beef and bird burger was cold. Thirdly the nice lady that served us as a table of 5 said there wouldn't be a problem splitting a bill, but the elderly manager kicked up a stink over this infront of a shop full of customers who could hear everything. His attitude was absolutely appalling as was the way he speaks to his staff. He also made sure to get a little dig in at the end saying and that's why we don't split bills. He is ignorant and very unprofessional. God help his poor staff.

Just managed to get in here before they closed. So glad we did, I had scampi and chips and the scampi was the best I’ve had (and it’s my go to so I’ve had a lot!) My partner had the cod and chips which he also enjoyed
