I've ate in here twice this month on a Saturday and it's hard to pass. Great food and reasonably priced. I didn't get our servers name, (fella with a beard) nut he serves me and my wife on both occasions. Very welcoming and he was flat out serving and seating people. He's a credit to the business

This is the 3rd time we have visited and it never disappoints. The food is so light and fresh, my husband loved the waffles and fish tacos over the summer. This time he had the chefs burger. Very impressed. In a new world were everything tastes fried. Great Jones does not. I just love the steak sandwich, so tasty, comes with mushrooms, tobacco onions and a delicious caramelised ciabatta. I order a medium steak and was cooked to perfection. My two young boys both had the children’s meals and finished them with delight. We will undoubtedly be back, a family favourite.

By the pricking of my thumbs something yummy this way comes.First thing let's talk about the steak it was hands down the best steak that our steak orderer has had in his opinion in 50 plus years of eating them. From the quality of the meat to the perfection of a medium rare cooking the steak was a certainly no trick but instead a treat for the taste buds. The Chicken Curry was a moreish, creamy flavor explosion with a mild comforting hug on the heat scale and well prepared boiled rice that complimented the dish.Dietary restrictions: The option of dairy free ice-cream is something that we are unable to avail of in many family meals out so thank you Great Jones.Parking: With its central location the availability of parking may be a little hit and miss depending on the time and day you visit. We were Sunday patrons and found parking easy.Kid-friendliness: The separate children's menu that has choices, the relaxed and friendly staff and the seasonal matching colouring page with crayons help occupy the wee ones and lead to an enjoyable experience for all.

Dropped in for a quick lunch. Couldn’t fault the food. Have seafood chowder with so much prawns/cod in. Sandwiches packed full with filling - pulled pork so tasty and chicken in other sandwich so tender. A great find. Will be back!

Best place to eat in Newcastle.Food: I ordered 10oz sirloin steak (rare) with prawns and a side of chips and pepper sauce. The sirloin was beautifully seasoned, perfectly timed on both sides to finish off the cook to a rare doneness. The caramelization of the sear was just spot on. Perfect steak! The prawns with garlic butter were superb. The chips were crispy, fluffy on the inside and seasoned nicely. The sauce was just fantastic too. For dessert I had the Panna cotta which was absolutely delicious. My wife and daughter both enjoyed their food as much as I did.The service was good. The younger guy was super friendly and was very very well mannered, but I found the older guy a little odd and not very good at connecting with us and a little cold while spending many times looking at his phone and having a hard time smiling. They were fast to serve and furnish us with all what is needed and swiftly, but this would be my only gripe to give 4 rather than a perfect 5 star which the chefs/food deserve as it was one of the best meals I have had in a long time and I eat out a lot and am a BBQ grill master, so I know a good steak!! :)The location was nice with a very modern but rustic looking twist.I would highly recommend this place to anyone that appreciates good food and a place to chill with a drink....or two.

You can trust the reviews on this place. Was our first time experiencing the food here tonight. Table for 2 at 7pm. They were very kind to let us order from the early bird menu (which technically finished at 7pm) as we preferred having the option of a 2-3 course menu at a set price. So, the food then -Appetisers:*Salt & chilli squid*Hot chicken wings with blue cheese sauce dipMains:Fish and chips with mushy peas & tartar sauceSignature chicken curry, with boiled jasmine rice and naan bread.Dessert:Sticky toffee pudding, with honeycomb bits and a scoop of vanilla icecreamPro's:Best fried squid I've ever ate. Would come back to eat this againChicken wings were a tad dry but overall tasted good with sauces to compliment them. The battered fish is delicious. Nicest we've had in Newcastle! Surely beats Docs just down the road.Small portion of chips, but they made amends by bringing out a second portion. Chips were freshly cooked too, a bit more time in the fryer would've made them crispier/perfect.The curry was absolutely delicious! Thick and full of flavour. Top marks for the tartar and mushy pees too.Negatives:Only negative I have was about the sticky toffee pudding. The toffee sauce was quite bitter which made eating it an altogether unpleasant experience which was a shame.Atmosphere/Ambience:Was a Friday evening. Busy as expected. Enjoyed having the craic with our servers that assisted usBig shout out to Nathan in particular. Full of good advice and recommendations. Was more than happy to leave a well earned tip. We'll be back :)

Great food. Great service, friendly welcoming staff even with a wheelchair. Just really helpful but no fuss. Meal was served promptly no rush, no pressure, lots to eat great quality. Tempting menu so hard to choose. Good early bird special too. Not so noisy you can't chat. Love the art work...wish it was on sale. Couldn't manage dessert...next time. Beer was ice cold and decent brand. Thanks.

Out of this world food at this place. Best meal out we've had all week on our trip to Northern Ireland. The chicken supreme with a side of mash & creamed sweetcorn was superb. The flavours popped!! Would deffo eat here again if I was living around here! Lovely friendly staff too.Vegetarian options: A decent range of veggie options too!

Took us in even though the tables were reserved and you could clearly see they were busy, staff were great, few drinks, good food and reasonably priced.

Portions very generous and food was 10/10. Price is extremely good and service was brilliant. Exactly what a restaurant should be.

Chicken curry was to die for and the mushroom risotto was first class as well. Just leave room for the cheesecake and lemon ice cream. Brilliant and very good value.
