Not really impressed by the Slieve Donard Restaurant.- We received the wines before the cocktails (It should have been for the main courses)- Waiter did not come again to let us taste the wine- Dirty glass (from dishwasher + hands)- Toasted bread was more black / burned at some parts, than golden- 2 Wagyu beefs were cooked well done instead of medium rare- Olive oil ice cream was very small and liquid, and the pistachio cake was a bit tasteless- I haven't see a Restaurant Manager, or Sommelier and it seems some waiters were working at the restaurant + the bar- Some parts of the restaurant were really dirtyThe Slieve Donard Hotel (Castle) is beautiful, and I was expecting a high quality and services from this restaurant, but in my opinion they are not at the minimal standard.I have been to some other restaurants in NewCastle with better services, food and half the price.

Really beautiful food and attentive staff and we had a lovely sea view from our table.Shocked to find out however that if you tip on card the brilliant staff don't see a penny of it. Glad we had cash to be able to tip them directly.
