Great pub food. Good portions, tasty and arrived very quickly after ordering.Kid-friendliness: They have a kids menu and high chairs available.

What a fantastic bar! Right on the sea front in Newcastle. Got an amazing meal, stake sandwich. Me and my dog loved it. Staff friendly and very helpful. Would defo go back again if I’m passing through or fancy a beer.

Went for a family meal for christmas. We were told to wait and then taken to a christmas party room that we hadn’t booked for. Then we were taken back into the bar and told to pick seats in the bar for a meal for 9 people. We then asked to be moved into the restaurant and were moved into a cold empty restaurant with no one else. We then were rushed to order our food because they took that long to seat us that the kitchen was closing. We ordered food with a bill of £170 but some of the things we had ordered never came. We then brought these issues up to the waiter and were told that we could not talk to the manager because he was too busy. We finally talked to the manager who was at the bar drinking and got the price lowered but they were still trying to charge us for the food we never received. We told the waiter this and he said “if you don’t pay for this it will come out of my salary” when one of the party member said that that was illegal and she would be reporting it he then turned on his words and took the price of the things we never received off the bill.Overall the service wasn’t great and neither was the food or the experience in general. Won’t be back.

This is a gem of a place. The beef stew and sausage and gravy is a must for dinner. Nice choice of cider beer. Had some local club signing and playing yucalalies in the pub. Will come again next time I am in New castle.

We've been in Newcastle for the weekend, this pub is lovely and all, but one, of the serving staff brilliant. My sister in law has big mobility issues and loved sitting near the roaring fire, but when she asked for food, was told she had to go to the restaurant, which for someone with mobility issues isn't easy. I was away hiking and when I returned, I asked for food, this lady said to me, do you have a dog! I replied no, so she stated I would have to go to the restaurant, I couldn't eat in bar, if no dog. We spoke to another lovely girl, who brought me my food and couldn't have been nicer or more helpful.İt was also noted that other customers were eating with no dog. The waitress in question seems to have attitude issues, a lady with brightly coloured hair. I hope the management will take note of this. Apart from this, perfect place!
