Although it's welcome to have refreshments when you get to the top of the zoo there is unfortunately a limited selection

Reasonably priced but no indoor seating.

Staff are all young and don't really care but I got my coffee. They have a new seating area outside with picnic benches some of which are undercover. If your lucky the peacock may pay you a visit whilst your munching. I do enjoy the zoo and this cafe is perfectly placed to refresh and refuel after the steep climb up.

The cafe in itself is just OK, in my opinion. The 5-star review is for the young man who served me at the ice-cream counter (around lunchtime on 18th March 2022). He was really friendly and engaging, and couldn't have been more helpful. Great job!

The loveliest views from here eating our ham and cheese toasties and enjoying our coffees which wear very cleverly decorated with chocolate Gorilla's due to the new birth at the zoo ?

The icecreams and products were nice. But the service is not that good. The staff are too slow and can't finish serving faster

Only does takeaway so got coffee and bun and stood at side of door because it was raining. Staff very friendly. Good stop off for a snack. Hot food only in Lion Den cafe near entrance.

Excellent day at the zoo perfect weather. Grandchildren and great grandson loved the play park and what animals they could see. My only complaint was the esb changer outside the entrance doesn't work. Was told you need an older esb card for it to work. Zoo staff told me they have no responsibility for the charger.

Too small to deal with even a quiet day in the zoo. Queueing time is ridiculous, the food is appalling. Grim and disgusting is how I'd describe the customer facilities at Belfast Zoo.

It's fine as a pit stop at the top of the zoo after the walk up. But given its bang on location, it needs to be better. Better selection of ice creams, better coffee. Just in general. It could be a real gem if it got treated with a bit of style or something. However, it's usually nice and clean and tidy, and what they do have up there is good.
