Hotel and bar was lovely and clean day staff were really nice can't complain about that but was in room and the ones next to us were partying banging loud music went down stairs and told night staff anf ild man to be told awk there's nothing I can do it will die down it came to 3.30 and it was so loud me and my partner had to get up and leave and drive home as the music was so loud ud think they were jn r room and the overly loud music shouting banging And the extremely loud sex we actually had to get up and leave ... absolutely discusted that the 1st time in over a year we get away we had to actually get up and leave and drive home won't be back again and 2bh I would like a refund as we paid to stay in a hotel that we didn't even get to stay in because of others!

This is the second time we have stayed at The Port, and I can honestly say we were sad to come home. All the staff were friendly, welcoming and made you feel completely at ease. I have to mention Jackie, who really did go out of her way to source the special doughnuts we were after! Have read some of the negative reviews on here, and completely disagree. Will definitely be back and would encourage others to book - also every meal was beautiful, and we are hard to please.

I really wish that I can give this place 5 stars. However, I cannot do this in good conscience after tonight’s dining experience. I have stayed in the hotel here and consider the price very reasonable. I’ve sat in and had the carbonara and wine for dinner here every time I visit portrush. Tonight, I came in and ordered a steak. I ordered it medium rare, and it came out well done. I had the steak remade and it came out a second time completely well done… no pink in sight, brown all the way through. I sent it back again and it came back completely rare, the cow may as well still be alive. At this point I’m ravenously hungry, so I decide settle with the rare steak. I would absolutely recommend this place as long as you don’t order the steak.

I don't normally leave reviews and don't often complain, but with this ecperience felt I should warn other travellers. After a busy day at the beach, we decided to have a meal in the Port Hotel. Started well enough, drinks arrived promptly, followed by the food. Food was mediocre at best. Kids you goujons and chips were obviously frozen. Partner thought her "homemade" lasagne was out of the microwave. My burger was good but the garlic chips were cold, soft and no taste of garlic. Because we were hungry everything was eaten bar the soggy chips. When the senior waitress came to clear the table and enquired if all was ok, I pointed out all of above. She was arguementative and replied there's nothing I can do now you should've raised this earlier. We paid and still not content I spoke to the guy the guy behind the reception desk. His response was "catch a grip you had a meal and only left half a bowl of chips!" I will never be back and definately would not recommend.

Went to port Hotel with family for evening tea, meal heated in microwave, garlic chip's soggy and definitely not worth 4.50 for a portion, staff rude and management not much better . Won't be back and wouldn't recommend

Arrived on spec with no booking, place was quiet which should have been a red flag as everywhere else was packed. They gave us a booth up at the back and had to turn the lights on for us. Staff were friendly and took the food and drinks order promptly. Our starters arrived which we were sharing. When it came to the mains, my steak came first as did one of the kids meals, we then waited...... and waited. I asked one of the staff could she check, on the rest of the food. Two more mains arrived. We were waiting on sides for my steak which was now cold, and soup for our 8 year old. Had to go looking for staff this time as they had congregated at the bar for a chat. Then someone else went to look for the food. Then the manage appeared in a pair of shorts and Croc's! Asked what the problem was with the food, i said we havent got it... I said our child was crying as she was starving, to which he replied ' I dont see any tears'!! That was enough for us, we asked them to take away the cold food and i would pay for the drinks. Not once did anyone offer either an explanation or an apology. Manager needs to go back to the beach or wherever he was called from because he definitely didnt want to be there. After speaking to a few locals its seems this is an ongoing problem and is the reason its quiet when everywhere else is busy. To be honest the food that actually did come looked good. Pity about the management if you could describe it as that.

Stayed here for one night first impression was contemporary style if you like taht sort of thing like a art gallery style expensive tate modern style art on the walls that cost a arm and a leg as had price on it that frankly a little girl would paint better.was taken to our room no lift loads of stairs every door had a large number above it reminded me of prisoner cell block style the room was up high so stair cases to climb there was a fan but room was hot ok now some postives the bed comfortable shower and modern facilties tv and all channels and freeview sky etc.got free drinks complimentary.everything itemised in case of damage or if anyone steals anything.didnt feel at home in this kind of desigh of the hotel minimal show off style boutique hotel but some love this kind of style and thats fine staff seemed friendly but you feel like eyes are on you wont stay here again didnt eat here prices are high and plenty of food in town

Great hotel in a good location. Stayed here for 2 nights which was a pleasant stay. PROS nice friendly staff, nice food including breakfast and dinner as well as a good bar. Clean hotel through out. CONS no lift, we stayed on top floor which was good for the heart. Can be noisy in the early hours as some pubs close after 2am. Shower wasn't the best, kept going hot and cold and so did the one in our friends room.

We stayed at The Port Hotel for the north west 200, sort of last minute so didn't know what to expect, so we got there at reception was meet by a lovely friendly lady called Gillian, good start, check in smooth, got to our room, sheets clean, room tidy result. Next down to the bar, good looking bar, with character, few people already there, no problem getting served, sat in the corner near the port hole through the wall and that was ours for the 4 nights we were there. So I will end it by saying a very big thank you to the family run Hotel (Mark (Dad), Andrea (Mam), Ben (son) and last but not least Rachel (Daughter) one last brilliant accolade is to Jackie the main women in the food department/Restaurant, she looked after us when we had food, which was very nice, breakfast and dinners, so thank you, to all your wonderful staff that I haven't mentioned for a fantastic stay , booked in for next year so hope to see you all again.

We ate at the Port Hotel on a Monday night. The service was excellent, good pub style food huge servings and good prices. When we left, the receptionist called a taxi, and chased it up for us when it was a few minutes late. Great service!

Stayed here Friday night and although it was clean and the breakfast was very good it was more the room for us. First of all there were big dirty footprints in the shower looked like shower had been fixed and wasn’t cleaned after as they were work boot prints. The room was very small and dark with only a small window that was frosted as it looked out to a brick wall. The curtains were like an afterthought and not pulled back right. The bed seamed very small and you couldn’t get round the bed. In all the room felt like we were in the broom cupboard the decor was very very dated the ceiling light was from the 80s. My partner found the pillow had what looked like a booger on the pillow as it was late at night he just turned it over but the worst of all was the sound of the extraction fan right outside our window. It went on and on all night. We booked last minute so think we were given the box room but at £120 a night it should have been checked before let in as the prints in shower had been there a while. In general I would say the hotel is fine and the breakfast is really good and the hotel is very clean and I have been in the bar many times but now there is no music in the evenings any more it’s a let down as I know it from the past. So it’s the room I had a problem with the bed was small to fit it in right next to a frosted window with a fan right outside all night long, as a romantic night it wasn’t very romantic lol

We stayed in the port hotel for two nights, the shower didn’t work, the room was bearable but at over £100 a night not cheap. Then discovered they charged an extra for a breakage which we did not do after we had left.
