Tourist Trap!Great location but £4 for less than a handful of chips! We ordered the mussels which arrived and over 50% of these were closed and when asked the staff did not seem interested stating that the Chef makes allowances. It’s easy to understand that these things happen and mussels are shut but to have over 50% of these to be rotten suggests to me the chef has not undergone the correct safety checks to ensure they are serving quality products.Who I assume to be the service manager arrived providing a cheeky remarks which suggests to me that this was no accident and in fact common place with their mussels.AVOID AVOID AVOID!

Lovely location… pity about the food and service!Came here with my partner from Edinburgh after seeing the views it offered. We ordered the mussels, only to be EXTREMELY DISAPPOINTED. Finding over half of the mussels to be closed really was quite concerning, and despite the chef saying they make allowances, I don’t think that over 50% is acceptable (particularly from a food hygiene standard perspective). The chips were also very poor, with a tiny portion costing £4.When raising concerns about the volume of unopened mussels we were greeted with a very sarcastic comment from what we could assume was the service manager! Totally undermining us as young and not local customers.Very poor, overpriced food coupled with very poor serviceDon’t waste your money on this place!

We pulled into town hungry and looking for seafood, so we tried Harry's Shack based on a Google search. Did we hit the jackpot with Harry's Shack! We've been traveling throughout Northern Ireland on a week long holiday and it was easily the best meal we've had on the entire trip! The service was great and the chowder had more fish than broth--absolutely spot on. The mussels were delicious, and even the onion rings were huge and super tasty. It was a fantastic meal!

This cozy restaurant has left the best impression. The atmosphere is chill and cool. The staff are really friendly. They know what they’re doing and what they’re talking about. Food was amazing, I had the mussels which were cooked to perfection and my partner had the Carlingford oysters which he said were succulent and flavorful. We both had the Green castle brill on the bone, it was opaque, flaky, and moist 100% worth it, we will definitely be back.

Our experience at Harry's Shack was top notch. Our host graciously accomodated our family when we showed up without a reservation and provided the BEST surf n turf I have ever had. The service at the outside bar and at our table was warm and friendly and the atmosphere was delightful. I can't wait to go back!

Arrived at 2pm to be told order could not be taken until 3pm at 3:05pm no order taken when inquiry made manager very unhelpful off hand and verging on rude. Would I recommend here on my experience no.We left and had a lovely late lunch with friendly helpful staff in another cafe. Very poor service as others served before us after arriving after us. Apparently there was a book with names on it but we didn’t see it!!!!

Lovely lunch today- my first visit. Friendly helpful staff and very tasty food - properly hot mustard dip for the steak sandwich! Citra IPA brewed in Portrush an excellent accompaniment to this. Hotter plates would have been good as it cooled down quite quickly. Would I go back? Absolutely! //Just realised i didn't post this before we visited again this weekend! My view still stands. The burger was delicious and a pint of Barmouth lager was very tasty. It was great again!

I spent a lovely afternoon watching the sea and sun from the terrace before getting food at 5 pm inside the restaurant. The wine and service was good and fast outside. Inside even better the girl running restaurant fitted me in without a reservation and the rest of the service was great..Best fish and chips in a long time.

Although we arrived just after lunch, the staff were very helpful and after a walk along the strand we had an amazing meal at the start of the evening service. The food was stunning (will try to recreate the amazing mussels at home!) and the service professional and charming, despite the fact it got very busy very quickly.Well worth the trip from the Netherlands!

The location is great just next to the beach. The starters were all hits but main courses were so and so. Friendly staff!

This was our first visit to Harry’s shack and we had a lovely meal. The waiting staff were very pleasant. I was a bit disappointed with our table as I was facing a wall and my neck got sore trying to get a look at the view. That aside the mussels were delicious, a large portion and the chorizo in the sauce a welcome change. I had the cod which was perfectly cooked and accompanied by gnocchi and broccoli, the sauce was lovely. My bf had the lemon sole which he said was the best he ever had. We thought the selection of wine was good and a few different choices than usual. Very nice experience.
