Unfortunately I went into this bakery and not one of the others along main Street. There were no prices on show and I feel awkward having to ask, so I ordered 4 buns and almost fell over when she said the bill was £12.50 ...Only because of the embarrassment of other people in the queue, I would have told her I had changed my mind. How on earth can you charge so much for buns that were, to be honest, nothing special and had obviously been sitting for a while. Very very disappointed and will definitely not be back

Ordered a breakfast, and after 40 mins she took my order again and got me 4 pieces toast. 20 mins later I left because nothing more was coming, and they were not busy.

Arrived at 9.45 for bakery produce nothin much available, limited choice of scones of which I bought 3 and on tasting were hard an stale and had to be binned obviously left over from previous day, asked about sausage rolls they were priced at £3.50 totally over priced I would not recommend and certainly will not be back.

Bought 2 coffees. Did not drink the coffee as not nice at all, in fact, was rotten. Brought them back to get money back. The lady said there was nothing wrong with her coffee and would not give us our money back. The worst customer service. Would not recommend at all.

As my partner was feeling very unwell on our short trip to the area we visited the nearby chemist to get medication. We then went to look for a shop to get some water but to no avail. I suggested as we were passing the JamJar that he go in and ask for a little water to take the tablets. The assistant informed him that she would have to charge 75p for the cup or he could buy a bottle of water for £1.70 This was quite excessive for a mouthful of water and he left saying he would just swallow them as they were. As we were in the area again the following day I visited the store to speak to the manager (who was actually the member of staff that had spoken to him the previous day!) of how disappointed and unhelpful I had found their response to have been. Trying to defend her actions and showing no remorse she said she was not allowed by the bosses to simply give a cup of water regardless of the reason. I stated that she had no empathy at all and hoped she never found herself in the same position needing water in an emergency. I have no opinion on the quality of food or otherwise in this place, but if that is the attitude of the staff I would not recommend it as a friendly and welcoming place.

Food was lovely as well as the coffee, however quite expensive.

We have been visiting Jam jar for years now, best croissant and Pain au chocolat you can get along the prom! Along with the nicest latte and homemade sausage rolls! I hope it doesn't change too much with the revamp happening in the near future because we love as is :)

Popped in here while holidaying in Northern Ireland . To be honest I couldn’t face another Ulster fry ( I had had too many ) . The staff were very young but nice and friendly . There were 7 of us but they managed to get us seated . We had various things from the menu and everyone was happy with what they had . I had tea and a scone for the first time in years . There are a number of cafes in the town but we were happy here .

We had the choice of other bakeries along the same street. Unfortunately we opted for this place. Very disappointed at the lack of service I received and the overpriced tray bakes.I was charged 17.00 pounds for 6 unfresh pastries. Can’t recommend this place as not acceptable to overcharge for what I bought, which was presented to me in a box which wasn’t covered and not properly secured to hold the goods. Had to plea for some tape to cover and secure the lid. Although the younger of the two ladies was friendlier. Not an nice experience and wont be back. Wish I’d chosen to spend my money at the other types of bakery’s along this street. Absolutely ripped off.

Have been calling at the Jam Jar regularly over the years while up at the North Coast. 4 sausage rolls, 2 scones and 1 banoffee pastry £19.25 for takeaway service!!!!!Thought we had been overcharged . Sausage rolls disappointing. Scones average. £3.00 for a takeaway sausage roll is overpriced . Won't be back.

Came in February, and gave a great review, about the Jam Jar, but was totally disappointed on my latest visit, the display showing the Jam Jars wares were well below from what I remember and shown in their photos, I sent my wife in for another fantastic Beef sausage roll, as I thought, but what she had bought when we got back home was a disaster!! Roughly 3 inchs long, Inch & half broad, with minimal meat, and rock hard pastry, Totally disappointed and at a price of £3-00!!!! Per Sausage Roll Serious!!! Should have gone to the local Spar Sorry, but I'll have to give you a wave next time ?
