A bit of a wait but well worth it great

Came in for Sunday lunch and best part of the experience was leaving. Not much meat, no mashed potato only roasties and hardly any veg so had to ask for extra. I had cauliflower but no broccoli on my plate, kids had broccoli but no cauliflower and my partner only had 1 tiny carrot. Very strange. Although there was an abundance of sugar snap peas (on a Sunday lunch??). Avoid at all costs.

We didnt realise most places are closed on a Sunday so we wwre happy when we walked past here and it was open. The food was OK, we all had lamb roast dinners. Portion was good but the lamb was quite chewy like it had been boiled rather than slowly roasted. Rest of it was fine though and dessert was nice. Staff were friendly and helpful. The place itself however is in major need of TLC. Seems quite rundown.

Don’t know how this place is still open, visited yesterday for 4 Sundays Lunches, all meat was raw not even cooked, blood all over the plate they never got eaten, waste of £44 would defiantly not recommend

Lunch. Shockingly bad. Waited ages for food to arrive and when it did warm food was cold. Kids cheesy tomato pasta had no cheese, a peppery tomato sauce no kid would like with linguine, not pasta shapes they can easily eat. Adult BBQ chicken and cheese sandwich came without cheese. Avoid!

Seemed that all had been cooked in an air fryer - the meats were dry and chewy and the chips crispy.

Poor menu but only wanted a snack. However, chosen Tuna 'hadnt come in!'. Second choice of Club sandwich was was worst ever experienced. Lumpy chicken, cold floppy bacon, and the toasted bloomer was not bloomer and not toasted. Nice place, pleasant staff, but busy and did not not come near us again nor express any interest in whether food was OK! We were just glad to leave with food mostly uneaten. Expressed all of the above when coming to pay but full price taken on card .... no cash acceptable or I would have made my own adjustment.Disappointing first impression of Alnwick but it got better!

Stopped in for a late lunch after visiting Alnwick garden. Very quite and relaxed atmosphere staff were friendly and we were served fast. We both had sandwiches which were loverly and came with chips and salad. a good amount on the menu and all reasonably priced. We will be going back again next time we are in Alnwick

Having looked on website at photographs I was looking forward to lunch at the bistro Website shows clean light area with small dining tables and dining chairs In contrast the bistro was in need of a deep clean and redecoration with coffee tables and dirty shabby armchairs and sofa We had to ask if this was the bistro as it bore no resemblance to website The staff were pleasant and efficient the food struggled to reach average Would not return and wished we had dined elsewhere

Ordered the Club Sandwich and must say it was the poorest example I have ever eaten. Cheap white bread only just toasted. Chips pretty inedible. In an era when there are so many nice breads to serve this low quality cheap white bread is unacceptable. Very disappointing.

Popped in for quick bite at lunch not having been before. We were only people there which should have rung alarm bells. Served at table quickly but had a fair wait for food to arrive. Sandwich was supposed to be BBQ chicken & cheese. Where was the cheese? The chicken was lumps of chicken slathered in a revolting bottle type BBQ sauce which managed to taste like a sweet vinegar - pretty awful on shop bread. Chips were ok but please leave off the salt and allow customer to add to taste - too much for me. There was no ambience- plenty of chatting staff - and when we went to pay found a sign saying card payments only - as I had the cash out ready this should have been made clear from the start - very poor communication. Had cause to use restroom before leaving and found path coveted with dust sheet as decorating appears to be in progress. Couldn't get up steps to ladies so popped into disabled loo - it was dirty!!! Final nail in the coffin of a very poor visit. Will not be going again and would not recommend.

Soup and sandwich for lunch. Sliced white bread that was stale. Soup had the odd unidentifiable white lump in (it was carrot and coriander soup!). My chicken sandwich had bones in.

I don’t normally give bad reviews, but todays experience was something else. The service was very good in all fairness, but the food was abysmal. My wife and I each ordered soup and a sandwich. When the food arrived, the bread was cheap white sliced bread and was stale. The chicken in one of the sandwiches had a number of bones in. One bone was approx 2 inches long which was dangerous. One of the soups had unidentifiable white lumps in, even though the soup was carrot and coriander. Considering the price that we paid (almost £10 per head) you would have expected a bit of quality, plus a non-hazardous meal. Certainly never to be repeated.

Popped in for a quick lunch. A lovely waitress served me; order arrived within a few minutes (sandwich, salad and G&T). Excellent.
