Hot plates/ hot food it's no wonder it was so busy on a rainy Monday evening. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend 100%. It's up there with the best Indian food I've had

The food was simple yet full of flavour and wonderfully cooked. The menu is simple yet large enough for a good selection of different dishes.
I’d highly recommend the seafood platter and smoked haddock mac and cheese then for main the lamb shank was massive enough for two portions with a lovely selection of vegetables a great change from seeing chips on menus when dining out.
Thanks you for a wonderful evening and a meal to remember. Please book as tables are very sought after.

The Chocolate Spa
1 Fenkle St, AlnwickFirst time today I visited for a milk hot chocolate. It was absolutely delicious..I cannot describe how absolutely gorgeous it was.
My daughter chose a banana milkshake and that was equally amazing. We were served with a love truffle which was a lovely touch to enjoy with our drinks.
I will most definitely visit again.

9 Clayport St, AlnwickWe’re visiting Alnwick on holiday and decided to try Pizza Royale - so glad we did! The deep dish pizza was absolutely delicious - light, fluffy, and full of flavor. The toppings were fresh and really tasty. Delivery to our hotel was fast, and the gentleman who brought our order was friendly and polite, which made the experience even better.
Highly recommend Pizza Royale to anyone in the area. Great food and genuinely great service!

24 Bondgate Without, AlnwickThe pub is under new management and they have put in a lot of effort in a short time. Stayed one night in a lovely room with a very comfy bed and at very reasonable cost.
We spend a very relaxing hour in the bar having late afternoon drinks before tasty meals in the restaurant. The staff were welcoming and friendly and the location is perfect for exploring Alnwick and the wider area. Free parking at the rear of the pub too. No hesitation in recommending the Plough.

On Friday evening we had the two vegan options on the menu and on Saturday they put together two lovely open sandwiches for us. The food was superb, the service was excellent and we absolutely love this place. It's a definite booking for us every time we are in the area.

Nice atmosphere and decor. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Cannot eat / order food in the beer garden - indoor seating for food only. Staff very allergen aware. Gluten free menu - items served with a flag. They also flag any items that are vegan due to food preparation and handling. Food was too nice ands I was too hungry to take any pictures.
You can enter from the front or the back (near beer garden).

Where do I start - wow, absolutely stunning! My partner had a naga and due to myself having a serious nut allergy, I was made a chicken tikka masala minus coconut and almond and it was delicious. All staff members were very polite, friendly and very accommodating. If we were local, this would be our regular curry house. I highly recommend✨

The food came out impressively quickly, and every dish was fresh, delicious, and well presented. Service was outstanding throughout the evening — attentive, friendly, and efficient without ever feeling rushed.
The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, making it a perfect setting for a large group gathering. The team genuinely couldn’t have done any more for us and went above and beyond to make sure everyone was happy and looked after.
I would highly recommend this restaurant!

Low Newton-by-the-Sea, AlnwickProbably my favourite pub in the UK (and I'm saying that as someone who owns a pub ?). We live in Derbyshire, and still try to make it here as often as possible! On a sunny day, it's bliss sitting out front in the sea air, with a freshly picked crab sandwich and a pint. On colder days it's cosy and delightful inside. Fabulous food and great beer too, brewed on site (the Sea Coal in particular is a fantastic stout).
Being in such an ideal location - just off the beach and an easy stop off along the coastal path - does mean that it gets very busy. Definitely book well ahead of you want to come for food in the evening, and it's even worth arriving early-ish to grab table for lunch.
Very dog friendly.

22 Northumberland St, Alnmouth, AlnwickStayed here for two nights, Lovely room, bed very comfortable and nice plump pillows. Despite being directly above the bar it was very quiet in the room.
Breakfast was delicious with plenty of choice and good service.
We were blessed with fabulous weather so enjoyed pizza and drinks in the beer garden. The pub was very cosy and there was a great atmosphere.

12 Howick St, AlnwickFinally made it here after years of missed opportunities, (think Sliding doors movie). Sometimes a thing never lives up to the expectation but that's not the John Bull. Everything and more. All the other positive reviews say it all , and all true. Those that gave a negative comment really should just stay in their chain-pubs, drink fizzy beer, contemplate there follow-like -sheep tats. and play on there phones. This place should have blue plaque outside and a grade 1 listing, this is England, this is a pub. It doesn't get any better.

Came across this little gem while having a wonderful around Alnwick and i can not fault it, the Steak Pie n chips with veg was beautiful, Minced and Dumplings were spot on and staff were so friendly. Price's are very fair/average and Cafe is clean and tidy. Only one thing is there is no toilets in the cafe as there is Public Toilets just over the road.
I would definitely rate this cafe as a typical English cafe with Homemade Food which is very tasty and good size portions..

63 Bondgate Within, AlnwickWhilst having a few days away we came across this great little pub. We were made very welcome by both the staff and the locals. Nicole/ Nicola ( sorry I forgot) was very attentive and helpful. A good selection of well kept drinks available. Sky sports too as well as pool table and darts. Thanks to you all . 2 Hotspur Pl, AlnwickAbsolutely brilliant little spot! It’s full of quirky atmosphere and unique decor. It’s a lovely, cosy pub with loads of character.
One of my favourite touches is the old-style jukebox, packed with a great range of tunes! Such a fun experience going up and picking your own music.
We’ve visited Alnwick a few times now and always make sure to pop in here for a couple of pints. There’s a fantastic selection of craft beers from smaller breweries, so there’s definitely something for everyone.
Highly recommend giving it a visit if you’re in Alnwick. The only thing to note is that it can get quite packed, but it’s 100% worth it!

The Ale Gate
25 Bondgate Without, AlnwickFirst visit this evening after recently moving to Alnwick. Staff were very friendly and helpful and came to say hello to our dog and give him a treat. Although they stock lots of real ales, we’re a bit boring in that we just stick to a pint of lager, but great selection if you like to experiment. Really nice atmosphere in the bar, comfy seating, background music and lots of chilled out customers. The prices of the drinks were very cheap too, will definitely be returning to this great little venue.
