“Came to attend a funeral and looking for a central place to stay. Website quoted £30 for a single room (still does 10/23) but said £40 when I phoned. Paid that no problem for 1 person in twin room. Room was quite spacious and refurbished. Not as clean as it might be but OK. Bathroom modern. Didn't have a drink down in the bar but staff friendly enough and there was a log burning stove. Fine as a drinking man's bar. Free parking was bonus. Would stay again.”

“I’ve played in bands all over the country in 100’s of venues for 40 years on and off. The Elephant is up there with the best of them. Why? The staff are great and the people that get in are the best. Local fella Steve is the 6th member of the band ? , crowd banter is top notch and the dancers are first class. If ya want to have just a great night out go see a band there.”
