A huge shame… my fiancée and I have enjoyed food in here for over 2 years yet today I was given food sub par, my fish was so greasy and soggy it made me feel sick, I had to leave the batter in the end and try to finish my fish as I needed to eat as I hadn’t eaten and my sugars were starting to fall with having diabetes. I complained and the poor waiting staff had to go backwards and forwards, you could see the puddle of oil and the mush that was supposed to be the batter on the plate… I was offered a free dessert and was refused any kind of refund (even though I’d said to the waiting staff that even if it’s 1/2 price) as paying £14 for rank food isn’t on. Apparently the chef was the manager?? How can you manage a pub and kitchen whilst cooking? Clearly you can’t, I was told if have to wait until all checks were cleared before he would speak to me (which I think is shocking) if the chef prides himself on his food and is happy to send out that quality of food, I wonder what qualifications he actually has.Won’t be coming back which is sad as it’s been a tradition popping in when we’re in ashington. I’ll be making sure all our friends we’ve recommended won’t be coming back either. Now a call to head office (if there is one)

Renovation is tastefully done. The staff are friendly and the food is amazing with great portion sizes and value for money. Highly recommend and definitely be back.

Carvery on a Tuesday lunchtime. Food was great and the staff were fantastic. So helpful and friendly. Great experience. EDIT: after my visit i called to see if you have to book for sunday lunch. Don't bother phoning because they never answer. Repeated dialling attempts only ever went to vm.Dietary restrictions: Vegan, veggie, gf diet and allergies accommodated, chef was very helpful.Parking: Good parking with disabled bays.Wheelchair accessibility: Disabled parking amd flat access.

The buildings been refurbished to a great standard and really welcoming. We visited for a sunday carvery. The lady who sat us didn't explain to order at the bar or anything so we felt a bit lost at first. The carvery itself was such a let down. The meat was tough and everything was frozen... yorkies, veg... all frozen. Even the mash wasn't fresh. Such a let down for the money considering the other options of carverys we have local in Morpeth/cramlington etc. Sunday dinners are my fave part of the week so unfortunately we won't be returning.

Our first time at the Fox cover...We had the carvery at £9 each.Very generous serving of meat then we helped ourselves. The food was delicious and the gravy deserves a mention as it was superb. The staff were great..a credit to the Fox Cover. We will certainly be coming here again.Thank you everyone at the Fox Cover..see you soon

It's been a long time since my first, very disappointing visit, and things have definitely changed for the better.

Salmon was beautifully presented but sadly over cooked and dry. The veg on the carvery tasted frozen. So too were the Yorkshire puds. Needs improving! New decor very pleasant

Food beautifully presented but couldn’t even eat the chicken was way overcooked ?♀️. Did tell staff but nothing was done to resolve. Won’t be back for main menu food but might try carvery.
Our first opportunity to visit after the re-opening.Great service. Our waiter ,Jordan was friendly and attentive. YNWA. Food was good. The chef's chocolate brownie was excellent and the wine delicious and great value. Worthy of repeat business.

Good morning, I am very disappointed that this is allowing me to give one star because my experience this morning was appalling with the staff due to using a bathroom so therefore I will not recommend this place to no one as it is absolutely appalling to behave like that when you are a

Not a big fan of Sport Bars, that being said my first visit here was a positive one, although it was busy it didn't spoil my visit in anyway.Food and service were good, will definitely return.
