What a joy to come back to Market Cross! A friendly welcome as always. Our room was comfortable and the homemade cake and biscuits "yummy". The award for breakfasts is more than well deserved, everyone mentions them and rightly so. Roll on our next visit.

6 star BnB!! Lovely building. Large rooms. Big garden. Great breakfast. Attention to detail by the hosts, I feel, is extraordinary. Nice town. Great areas around to visit. Pub next door. Win win all around. Host arrangements for lifts to and from the coast path most welcome.

Amanda & Steve were friendly and made us feel very welcome. The room was delightful and spotlessly clean, with little personal touches that made it special. The homemade food was absolutely delicious and plentiful. What else can I say, except if you have an opportunity to visit this part of the country then make a bee line to stay at Market Cross Guesthouse, Belford

The Market Cross Inn is undoubtedly one of the best bed and breakfast we have ever stayed at infact the best we have ever stayed in.its setting is a beautiful little market new to Bamburgh. Amanda and Steve have a wonderful system that works so well.On arrival you are greeted and welcomed and given a lovely homemade cake. The rooms are clean and have everything you need.Coffee machine, kettle cups and mugs and an array of choices of different teas and coffees and the beautiful home made biscuits these were topped up every day.The shower was good and bed comfotable and TV with Netflix and various other streaming channels. Everything you could think of had put in place by Amanda and Steve even a torch and earplugs in the bedside drawer. Hair dryer, iron, ironing board even a make up cloth. The breakfast was by far the best ever home made granola, muesli, seasonal fruits fresh kippers and home cooked breakfast by Amanda and all served with a smile and good chat by Steve .A lovely couple who were a delight to Chat to eventhough they were busy always found time to chat to all their guests.Overall a wonderful stay and just toaddthe parking is on street but free and we parked easily. We will be back to continue are exploration of Northumberland next year and will definitely stay at the Market Cross Inn.

An outstanding bed and breakfast. Amazing facilities, room and service. Outstanding breakfast. Will be coming back I am sure. Very close to the Lindisfarne causeway and Bamburgh Castle. Close to Seahouses. The homemade jams are a lovely touch and a very tasty way to start the day.

Market Cross is an exceptional bed and breakfast - the nicest place we have ever stayed. Steve and Amanda are incredibly warm and welcoming hosts. The room was beautifully appointed and spotlessly clean, with lovely homemade biscuits left every day. Beds were very comfy and we slept very well in this peaceful home. The breakfast was incredible - all locally sourced ingredients. Steve and Amanda really go the extra mile and it made our stay very special - thank you. We will definitely stay again the next time we visit Northumberland!

What a fabulous place the Market Cross Guest House is! We, along with our friends, enjoyed 5 luxurious nights there, being looked after by the lovely hosts, Amanda and Steve. The rooms were immaculate - lovely furnishings and extremely comfortable beds, with the great touches of complimentary mead, home made biscuits and refreshed fresh milk every day. The highlight had to be the amazing breakfasts - all the ingredients were either locally sourced or home made, no request was too much for our hosts, and the vast choices left us full and set up for our days exploring this beautiful county. Some great recommendations for places to visit from Amanda and Steve as well. If you are ever up in Northumberland you simply must give this place a try!

We have just returned from a lovely and well needed break. We revisited Lindisfarne where my husband proposed and booked to stay at Market Cross. We were really blown away by the warm and friendly welcome from Amanda and Steve. We had the most beautiful room with gorgeous decor and thoughtful accessories. A nespresso machine was an added bit of luxury, the local mead and home baked biscuits made it feel very personal. The Blue room we stayed in had a beautiful roll top bath which was just what I needed after walking all day on Lindisfarne. My husband eats a vegan diet and Amanda was very accommodating. Unlike many places we eat at, his breakfasts were just as delicious as the meat alternatives. Market Cross Guest House was a key reason our trip felt as special as it did. It felt luxurious and friendly but with privacy too. If you are travelling to the area please book your meals at local restaurants in advance. We recommend heading to Bamburgh for the ambience and we really enjoyed a low key meal at The Castle Inn there. In Belford itself the Co-op and chip shop were convenient. The local Blue Bell stopped serving at 8pm. If you are going out for the day to Lindisfarne, we would advise taking a lunch or booking well in advance at the pubs. When the tide came in at 1pm the island shops mostly shut and we were there until 7pm before the tide went out again. Pubs were all fully booked. The beaches on the other side of the island are quiet and sandy but with opportunities to rockpool in some areas. Seals were playing and there was an amazing range of ecosystems, flora and fauna to see around the island.

Steve and Amanda provide services and provisions of a high standard. They both work hard for their guests. Communication, a hearty welcome, choice of breakfast, the room (bedding, linen, decoration, provisions), and their level of care in catering to special diets- it was all excellent. They source their ingredients locally and Amanda cooks all the delicious food herself, also preparing the granola, oat-mix and bread. Their place is fresh, clean, well-lit and beautifully decorated. Bedding, linen and bathroom provisions are all high standard. I would certainly book with them again and highly recommend them. Steve and Amanda, wishing you all the best! ?

Another great stay at Market Cross. Excellent accommodation, beautiful food and all the little treats and attention to detail make this the best guest house we have ever stayed in. Steve and Amanda fully deserve all their accreditation and awards.

Everything in Market Cross is designed for calm and complete comfort. The rooms are airy [NOT draughty] and spacious, each with its own colour scheme. The beds are comfortable, the towels are big and fluffy. The breakfasts are deliciously ample, with lots of fresh local produce, including homemade yogurt and jam. Nothing is too much trouble for Steve or Amanda, who are both sensitive to guests' tastes for more or less chat - not always the case in guest houses! Hard to imagine how it could be improved.

From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very comfortable and welcome by Steve & Amanda. From homemade cake & biscuits in our room to freshly cooked delicious breakfasts served in a beautiful dining room. Most of the food was locally sourced or handmade by Amanda. Jams, bread and granola to name just a few. We had a very comfortable room with a beautiful garden view and was a perfect central base to all the places we were planning to visit in Northumberland. It was truly a wonderful stay! Thank you!

Where do I start - what an unbelievably great experience. The Market Cross guest house is beautifully appointed with fine attention to detail - Steve and Amanda were excellent hosts, very welcoming, friendly and informative with many recommendations for everything around the area from walks, beaches and places to eat. The choice and quality of the breakfast at the Market Cross was off the scale as was the private back garden to which guests have free use and accessThis has to be one of the best, if not the best guest house we have stayed in - Fantastic!

Absolutely wonderful B&B. Breakfast every morning was superb. The room was clean comfortable and quiet. And we enjoyed an excellent home cooked dinner one night by Amanda. All with very local ingredients. Could not have had a better stay!
