Food & drinks: Amazing food and an impressive selection of meals to choose from. Definitely a step up from the usual pub food!! We ordered the Sea Bass and the Duck Breast and both were delicious!

Set in a lovely location, not far from some beautiful beaches and pretty villages. Rooms spotless, bed very comfortable, beautiful bathroom, my husband enjoyed the slo gin, left in the room and we both appreciated the home made cake everyday! We ate there 2 nights, the food was good as were the breakfasts. We took our two Border terriers, who are both well travelled and know how to behave, when they are staying away. However, although it says dog friendly, not sure the owner a dog lover, also not one for being big on conversation, unless you were a local. Just our preference, a little bit of pleasantries makes you feel welcome.Rooms: Rooms spotless and very comfortable.Food & drinks: Meals varied, however, a little on the pricey side.

Lovely pub with a nice atmosphere. Went early in the week in the afternoon so not very busy. It is February after all . The landlady and locals were really friendly. Nice warm fire too. They do food in the evening apparently.

Already recommended to friends to go and stay.Fantastic dinner, lovely waiting staff, delicious breakfast. Why no 5 stars? Oh, shucks, its such a great place it just went back to 5×. Just be careful of stairs and bath.OK, it's a restaurant with rooms in my view, and a wonderful example of that. Couple of points need attention. Access to Bath/shower is a difficulty, water/boiler/dunno constant noise was there all night, doubt not much can be done, just kept waiting for it to stop. It didn't.Everything else at The White Swan is so good, please go there and have delicious food, drink very good wine, and enjoy your kipper(s) in the morning.Rooms: Room 3. Constant water noise (boiler?) all night, not overly disruptive. Not compared to lovely partner. Shower over bath, this is a problem and needs to be addressed, my partner with her short but lovely legs could just about hop into the bath, me with legs cruelly carved from a spindly animal with arthritis could only climb in with assistance, no grab handle. No, we didn't ask when booking so I'm not having a go. When everything else is just so well in place it might seem minor, yes a grab handle is not visually great, but people just don't notice them.Walkability: Very steep and narrow steps. Tricky for an old codger. Just take your time.Food & drinks: How long do we have? The food is absolutely fantastic.Say again, a dinner which was just magnificent. Duck breast with Cointreau sauce was exceptional.Wine list that could not be true at the price.A cheeseboard of local produce that was sublime.Just be aware that the food portions are on the generous side. Loved every mouthful.Breakfast? Oh yes, please. Fruit platter out of this world. Northumberland in winter, just what is needed.Kipper, local, of course, my only plea here is kippers as so good another would have been welcome, delicious coffee.

Went for dinner on a cold January night ! The welcome was very warm !! The food was excellent. We both had the mushroom soup which was delicious. I had the salmon & king prawn cassoulet my husband had the liver. Both were excellent. We finished off with a delicious cheesecake. The menu is very imaginative and the chef is very good. There is an extensive wine list and locally brewed beer on offer. We will return on our next visit to Northumberland.

Just got home from a two day break here for my husbands birthday. The area is beautiful and peaceful so very quiet day and night. The white swan is in an excellent location for visiting all areas of Northumberland and is a stunning place to stay. Our bedroom was lovely and cosy, we loved the little tipples left in our room daily as well as the gorgeous cakes, a perfect added touch. We ate in the Inn one night, in the bar area with our dog, staff were friendly and welcoming, gets busy so book. The food was very nice, I'm fussy so would have loved generic pub food such as pie and chips, gammon steak etc, but the food we ate was very fancy, cooked and presented beautifully and tasted great. We ate breakfast both days and had full English, the food was tasty, seemed good quality produce, good portion size, hot and I was full till late afternoon. I wouldn't change a thing about this place and can't wait to visit again. Thank youRooms: Beautiful, warm, cosy, great cakes and tipples left, very comfy bed, loved the big bath

This pub came up on a Campervan website ans as close to A1 we Called ahead and asked if ok to park if we had food . The owner was very welcoming and we parked up on a nice level car park . The pub resturant is very warm with welcoming staff and guests . Food not cheapest but if you want quality food this is the best we have experienced in s long time ! Food menu extensive and perfectly served we will make a point in revisiting . Really enjoyed the visit and particularly the food ..

. . . we all looked forward to our family dinner, and it was a super evening. Warmly greeted at the bar where we enjoyed pre-dinner drinks and given menus to peruse. Efficient, friendly service as shown to our table with meals arriving shortly after . . . absolutely delicious; colours, textures, flavours. Excellent value for money and highly recommended.

We came on a recommendation and so glad we did. A stunning meal. Five of us and we were all really happy with what we had. I'm not usually one for a pudding but went for the Bakewell tart. I think it has to be the best pudding I've ever had! A lovely atmosphere, very reasonable and great service. The young girl who served us (Martha?) was very nice and friendly. Coming from a group of ladies who have daughters we all commented on how lovely she was. Thankyou, Vicky

Lovely friendly pub/restaurant. We had recently had a meal here whilst staying in Belford. We enjoyed it so much we returned the following night!!! Beautiful food and lovely staff. We had our puppy with us and she was made very welcome in the bar area. We will most definitely return.
