Visited after reading great reviews and we’d booked panto tickets later. Nice looking menu but seemed a little pricey, didn’t mind that if the food was going to be outstanding. Hard to read the specials on the wall and our children found it difficult to choose something from the main menu. We were finally given a kids menu but the selection was limited and expensive. The food was fine, just fine. £6.95 for a cheese sandwich seemed excessive as it was just a bun and a tiny amount of wilted mixed lettuce with a couple of beansprouts in for some reason. £3.25 for a plastic bowl of chips! Staff members were exactly pleasant but maybe they’re just sick of working over the festive period. We left with full tummies but I wouldn’t recommend as there’s far nicer places.

I was recommended by Deniy delli who was closed for refurbishment unfortunately as I wanted to treat my mam to a lovely experience. Upon arrival was greeted at the entrance and shown to a table with such amazing view of the city Berwick-upon-Tweed. I had already reviewed the menu online and my mam chose at the table . I struggle to eat at present due to illness, but I enjoyed the meal that much I ate everything on my plate it was absolutely lovely. I had read a few reviews beforehand and wow the reviews were spot on. Even changed my train times to spend a bit more time there. This was such a lovely place ,food and staff are 5 star.i recommended this this place to anyone wether be a small bite or dining it's a must for me we were there for well over an hour as it was so relaxing and enjoying so glad I went. My mam said she couldn't of had a better day out. Thank so much to the staff. Even the prices were very good. Definitely visit here☆☆☆☆☆

Lovely warm greeting on arrival and I was led to a window seat (often as a solo diner you are hidden away in a corner). It is well laid out with plenty of space between the tables, and everywhere is immaculately clean. There is a great choice of menu with lots of specials, and service seemed to be good whether you were having a coffee or a full meal. I had the fishcakes, which were lovely - with a drink and coffee the bill came to around £19. A great choice if in Berwick

In the last fortnight, the Maltings has shown the film 'The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry, which we both enjoyed immensely. We had an excellent, reasonably priced lunchtime meal there on another day, and tonight, we've just returned from an excellent performance of Sunshine on Leith by the Berwick amateur operatic society. The Maltings is a great place for community entertainment.

Went here for lunch on my first trip to Berwick. Lovely, airy restaurant. Very friendly & attentive staff. Excellent food and good sized portions. I can recommend the steak sandwich & chips. Will definitely go back if I'm back in Berwick

We were pleased to discover that the Maltings has re-opened for food and is as busy as ever for lunch. We now have a Maître d' to greet & collect your details and show you to a table which maybe in the Restaurant or Foyer to keep a good spacing. It's a part reservation and part walkin system and seems to be working well. Good service and the full regular menu (printed) ensure plenty of choice and the tasty food we have come to expect. It doesn't get much better in Berwick.

A very pleasant cafe in Berwick-upon-Tweed. The staff are very pleasant and we’re extremely understanding when my husband accidentally broke a plate! The coffee was brilliant,

My husband and I came here off the cuff with our teen son for lunch. We ordered Cullen skink, parsnip soup and nachos. All dishes were delicious and we had to sample the tray bakes as well - very nice. The service was friendly and the view over the red rooftops of Berwick was tremendous. Highly recommend.

Six of us had lunch here in October. We came from Edinburgh and met up with my brothers from down south. Four of us had haddock goujons with chips and salad. My wife had haddock fishcakes with salad. The other I can't remember. The service was friendly, and the food was uniformly excellent. As were the puddings: chocolate brownies with vanilla ice-cream, generous portions of pear & almond tart, a filling dessert with chocolate and raspberry. Took photos of the roofs of the old town afterwards. We very much look forward to coming again.
