TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE, arrived at 6.00 pm only to find one waiter trying to serve 15 people plus the six in our party, not a good start. We were totally ignored for the first half hour before he decided to ask what we wanted to eat. We asked if he could turn down the music which was loud, this he did but was increased again shortly after and we forced to listen to ………….. for the rest of the evening.THE MEALS we ordered five starters which eventually arrived which were very good. Then the main courses arrived, out of six meals only two were acceptable, mine which was a steak was so tough and stringy it was inedible. When we commented on the poor quality of the four meals the waiter was totally uninterested.COMMENT This was my second visit, the first was with friends and was brilliant which is why I took family with me this time on my recommendation, I had to apologise for the terrible attitude of the waiter and the rubbish food.It will be a long time until we visit again and looking at previous reviews it appears the owners do not care.

The staff here are amazing. Second visit as first time was amazing. Sad to say food today 10th March was poor, I had no veg apart from sugar snap peas, Yorkshire puddings were rock hard, i got the lamb which was bit dry, maybe i got the last portion the music was so loud we were having to shout to have a conversation.

After reading the reviews we booked for4 for Sunday Lunch 25/2/2024.Well the meal didn't live up to expectations.Starter (potato skins) okay desserts where nice.But the Roast Beef dinner disappointing, they where cold, roast potato where frozen ones and the parsnip under cooked, Yorkshire pudding burnt, I was the only one with roasted carrot and they where burnt, no body had the same vegetables, my plate had leeks as a vegetable. Leeks on a Sunday lunch in my opion is a no no.And the plates where swimming in cold gravy.Sorry to write such a negative review and wont be returning.

We had a large group of 25 people from Blyth Kayak Club, which the Olive Tree catered for with no problems. The food and service were great and everyone had a great night.Would highly

Arrived with friends for a nice meal. Staff very friendly and attentive. A very varied menu of Italian and Greek cuisine. Food was excellent and value for money. We would definitely come back and recommend to friends.

We held a surprise 60th meal at the Olive Tree in September and I just had to leave a review following what was the most incredible night. In the lead up to the night, when organising the private event, both the management, staff and chef were incredibly helpful and organised. The party was for around 45 people and after sending our pre order with a table plan the restaurant made sure these were printed and on hand for all staff on the night. The staff did not stop all night and I can’t speak highly enough of them all. Regan in particular went out of his way to make sure everyone was happy and it really was noticed by all our guests. The food was piping hot and delivered quickly to the whole restaurant with lots of steaks cooked to order to each person’s preference. The food was delicious, the drinks were lovely, the Olive Tree really did cater to our every need. I wouldn’t hesitate to book the restaurant for another large party or a normal meal, and neither would our guests who were so impressed with everything the staff did on the night. Thank you to all the lovely staff at the Olive Tree for what was the most incredible night. Your efforts were truly appreciated.

Food just warmBeef over cooked. Very toughAlmost onky 2 table spoons of custard for large bowl apple crumble.Took far to long to get plates taken and asked if we wanted sweet.I had to ask for this.No one asked the whole time there if everything was ok .Waiter who brought the bill was very friendly. Serving girl was notShame poor service on sunday lunch as we have eaten evening meals before and very good.Unlikely to go again. .
