“First visit and definitely not our last. Really difficult to find 3 dog friendly and gluten free café. The gluten free cheese scones are sublime and the best I've had. We reserved our table and I loved the way it was worded on the reservation board- 5 plus a doggy. Can't wait to return.”

“Perfect Present! We got a Running Fox Afternoon Tea voucher as a thoughtful gift from our family. This afternoon, we used our voucher at The Kirkharle Courtyard, Running Fox. What a wonderful venue! So pretty. A quaint Courtyard with a few artisan craft shops, and a picturesque small lake. I have arthritis and have mobility problems. So Kirkharle is perfect for parking, and we'd pre-booked, and asked to be on the ground floor. Staff were so courteous, friendly and helpful too. Room was lovely. Lots of different choices on the menu, All our food was so fresh, and very tasty, and beautifully presented. Sandwiches were well filled, beautiful thick corned beef pie, fresh scones with jam and clotted cream, and huge and creamy banoffee pie. Best I've tasted, and portions were huge! Afterwards we sat outside in the courtyard, enjoying the afternoon Spring sunshine. Well, Running Fox, you have us feeling stuffed... so we have brought our leftovers home for later! Perfect present for us! Thank you x”

“Absolutely brilliant little place. Fantastic service, with breakfasts cooked fresh from scratch. Takes a little longer to get than some places, but all food is fresh and served piping hot. A genuine cooked breakfast.
Prices are very cheap, £7 for a 2 sausage, 2 egg, 2 bacon, 2 black pudding breakfast is amazing. £5 for the smaller one.
10 seconds off A1 with plenty of parking.”
