Sublime starter of heritage tomatoes and cheese. Lasagne for main lacked something and was a larger portion than necessary. Table layout a little tight.

Staying at the Linden Hall Hotel, & popped into the Linden tree pub for a drink , not even a 2 min walk from Hotel, service good, staff friendly would recommend.

We were so looking forward to a great Sunday roast but the beef was so tough it was a real disappointment. The Staff were all wearing very dirty uniforms and although polite and attentive our comments on the super tough beef didn't even get an apology far less the offer of reduction. Overall it was a pity as I really expect more from MacDonald Hotels.

Came here while staying at the hall for a night, Starter was Black Pudding Scotch Egg, absolutely delicious. My favourite of the evening. We also had the beef burger which was nice aswell as Lasagne. Wine was also good to accompany the meal. Thank

Went for lunch with a friend. I ordered a Caesar Salad with chicken. It was smothered in so much sauce that it was practically inedible. I ate the chicken but left most of the salad. The main courses were so disappointing we did not risk ordering desserts. I will not eat there again.

Stopped for a light lunch prior to a wedding. We were seated in a very attractive conservatory. The food took a little while to arrive but it was very good when it did. Great to be able to get a gluten free sandwich. Portion size and food quality were good the staff were exceptional and really went out of their way to look after us

Good pub food and high end pricing, in my opinion over promising and under delivering, although nothing wrong with the food. The service was nothing to write home about nor was the atmosphere, however the location is excellent.Vegetarian options: The Vegetarian burger was £18!

We were a multi-generational family group. We sat in a nice conservatory and were well looked after by the staff. The food was a little bit slow to appear but very nicely presented and tasty. I was able to get a gluten free sandwich and the side order of chips were cooked separately which was thoughtful.

Burger and chips for three served on shared platter, dry burger, dry bun, poor offering of fries and watched other customers have to look around for condiments - raised issue with manager who wasn't really interested. Dessert was slightly better but neither worth the menu price in my opinion. Shame as the pub is very nice and could be a cracker. Gone downhill over the last year, not somewhere I'd revisit or recommend.

Full of well oiled golfers. Quality of the food leaves something to be desired!

Next to the Golf Club/Hotel complex. Nicely renovated. The menu was typical gastro pub type fayre. All was well presented and nicely cooked. The service needs improvement. Twenty minutes waiting for our order to be taken. Nobody asking if we wanted another drink, leaving empty bottles and glasses on the table. I had to go to the bar to ask for another bottle of water and when it arrived it was just put on the table without asking if we wanted anymore wine. Nothing unfriendly, just needs more training

The ambience and staff were good however the food is pretty mediocre and not value for money. It’s an odd hotel pub. My wife wanted a glass of champagne to start with. The pub couldn’t serve a glass on its own so one of the staff had to pop across to the cocktail bar in the hotel to get her one. Very strange. Drinks are expensive - double vodka plus a Guinness - over £17 per round
