What a gorgeous new little find for us! After a walk with our dog and little daughter, we stopped in for a quick bite to eat. The lovely waitress couldn’t do enough for us. Our little daughter was quite upset and tired… making quite the racket! As first time parents it’s this situation that makes us feel so apologetic for everyone else. However the waitress made us feel so welcome. We sat outside and she brought us blankets and our daughter some paper and crayons. The food was delicious. Loved the little dog friendly menu for our collie! Again the waitress throughout kept checking on us and making sure we were ok. It really is this sort of attention and care that makes you want to return. Thank you ? x

What a discovery. I'd be here all the time if I lived in this village.Lovely staff and a wide variety of food. Not at all what I was expecting.A delight.Wheelchair accessibility: Easy to access, not far from the car park.

Saturday we were on a five-hour drive home. We decided to stop for a quick coffee, mindful we had little time to spare. I googled an independent shop, as community business is important to us.First, we really struggled to get the wheelchair through 2 heavy doors. We were so thankful that a customer gave us a hand. But what happened next was unbelievable. As we fought through the inaccessible space towards a free table, the waitress rushed to0wsrdsvthe table. She leaned across me, in the space of my chair to put a reserved sign on the table. LITERALLY BARRING MY EAY, AND TRYING TO STOP ME FROM SITTING DOWN!! Quite deliberately putting a sign down, that was not there as I left the wheelchair, but there by the time I sat down?! We were incredulous! As a disabled woman I’ve got used to bad service, it is often unintentional, I know. But this was deliberately cruel & nasty.I'm afraid I was rude when asked to wait another 10 minutes; I'm very sorry but I was incredibly upset that my personal space had been invaded and at being ignored when trying to transfer from the ‘chair - it is really painful. We would have easily and happily vacated the table before the time on the reserved sign.I don't know who provided your disability equality training, but they should have explained what a reasonable adjustments is. Or have you ignored it??The service we got in Greggs later on was so kind I cried.

Rode out to this cafe as a few people have mentioned it especially for cyclists and what a lovely bunch of people who work there. My friend who I rode with decided to tell it was my birthday and 2of the lady's brought out our food with a candle in mine to only sing happy birthday.. food was lovely and the cakes/brownies too! Definitely be going back

We had a lovely family birthday lunch here. Fabulous menu, and beautifully presented, delicious food. The team are so friendly and helpful, and the cafe is light, and airy with a lovely atmosphere. Great play area outside for the kids too. Definitely recommended!Kid-friendliness: Kid plates and portions. Excellent play park outside the cafe.Wheelchair accessibility: Wheelchair and mobility scooter accessible.

Four of us and a damp dog turned up here on a wet Friday morning. We were made very welcome. This cafe is a wonderful asset to the village, next to the park, bowls, tennis etc. Numerous groups meet up here. We had excellent coffees only, but had to leave early for our walk to Newton on the Moor, where we'd booked lunch. We came back in time for lovely cakes just before closing time. Too bad, the huge creamy scones (understandably! ) had disappeared by then. If you're staying at the caravan park and don't fancy driving, then Nelson's is well worth the 15 minute walk. Often, a cafe without competition can be pricey, and offer poor service. Not so here. The staff were lovely, with a great sense of humour.Kid-friendliness: We had no children with us, but noticed SIX clean high chairs stacked nearby!
