We loved the cosy atmosphere, the Sunday roast was delicious, you gotta have dessert, the beer on tap was a really good choice, the cocktails are great, the chef/proprietor and his front of house looked after us so well and the fellow guests made us very welcome. Good value for money. You can own a piece of the experience as antiques/collectibles are also available. Be warned, the plates are very hot? and not many heed the advice!

It's just spot on. Wonderful Italian food in a half restaurant, half micro pub, half antique shop atmosphere full of lovely friendly customers. What's not to love.

Gluten Free Options were good. However didn't realise you had to order 24hours prior for the pizzas to be GF. I had a lovely pasta dish though. Would definitely recommend

My wife and I stumbled on this little gem while out walking on a freezing day. We popped in for a coffee and to get warm. Inside it was a lovely atmosphere with a friendly and helpful member of staff and some locals providing a warm community feel. Deciding to avoid the cold for longer and enticed by the menu -we added soup and garlic bread to our order. The tomato and basil soup was excellent -the garlic bread -plentiful, pleased that we only had one between us. The coffee was spot on and came with really good biscuits, not the cheap ones most other places use. Not the cheapest -but happily paid as everything was perfect and thoroughly recharged the batteries to face the cold and complete our walk. I definitely intend to return and will recommend to family and friends!

Honestly the best arrabbiata I’ve ever eaten. The Italian food here is second to none. It’s my favourite place in all of Northumberland. The staff are so friendly, they allow dogs, and the atmosphere and decor is brilliant. Can’t say a bad word about the place.

My husband, son and I went for an anniversary meal. It was really lovely. The food was very fresh and plentiful. The service was friendly. We had a lovely time and the price was very reasonable. My husband especially enjoyed the steak. Presentation of the food on the plate was very effective.

Good traditional Italian food. We were a group of four and cannot complain about any of the food we ordered. Pastas lovely and a couple of blackboard specials were excellent. We did have a little wait for the mains but they were freshly cooked and we weren't in a hurry! Desserts were just a nice. All in all, we enjoyed our evening and will return.

This is a lovely little restaurant with a lovely atmosphere however the food was disappointing. Sunday roast very poor the beef was terrible. The waitress was lovely so friendly and helpful. Would go back to try weekday menu but never again for Sunday lunch

The locals don't tend to have anything positive to say about the place, which is why they have stopped going, and having a meal in a near empty restaurant is uninviting. The food is good quality (great Sunday dinner)but the menu is uninspiring. They might have a table available or they might not (even if the place is nearly empty) . They might be available to make a takeaway pizza, they might not. So I just order food from the white swan or buy a pizza from the co-op. It feels like they are doing you a favour cooking for you. Make sure that you ask the price when paying for drinks and don't just pay contactless and get a shock in the morning (on the odd occasion when we go, I now loathe buying drinks here). Front of house in general are ok, the issue seems to be the kitchen. I think if the manager realises that the customer should come first over himself then the restaurant may have a chance of surviving and if he is having a bad day or feeling grumpy just stay out the way of customers... Otherwise Its just another failed business ... which is a real shame for the area... I think the other reviews really flatter the establishment, but the reality is... It's empty!
