Sticky Sponge Cake Studio
Unit 6, Stocksfield Hall, StocksfieldA huge thank you to Graeme at ‘Sticky Sponge Cake Studio’ for creating our beautiful wedding cake. As our wedding wasn’t local to our venue, Graeme provided a variety of cake samples to arrive through the post and our consultation was easy and straightforward. The final cake was beautiful, along side matching cupcakes which catered for our GF guests. A great experience all round and a very tasty wedding cake! Thank you!

The Feathers Inn
Hedley on the Hill, Stocksfield10/10 gastro pub, the charcuterie (a fan favourite) was incredibly presented and tasted superb. Open fire cooked duck and deer were excellent and finally the Bakewell & Rhubarb was delicate and tasty. Highly recommend this family run establishment as a food destination.

Bywell Coffee Barn
South Acomb Farm, Bywell, StocksfieldBywell Coffee Barn is one of those places that manages to feel welcoming even when it’s heaving. We walked in to a warm hello, a room full of people, and the sort of mid‑week bustle that suggests they’re doing something very right. We found a small perch — not quite a table, but enough to operate from — and the staff stayed friendly and unflustered despite the pace.
The food follows the same theme: straightforward, generous, and not pretending to be anything it isn’t. The jacket potato was enormous, the kind that arrives and makes you reassess your appetite.
What stood out, though, was the steady stream of customers. For a weekday outside school holidays, it was remarkable — and slightly painful — to watch people being turned away simply because every seat was taken. A good sign for them, less so for anyone arriving late.
Overall: warm welcome, busy atmosphere, solid food, and clearly a local favourite. Get there early or be prepared to hover.

Wheelbirks Parlour
Wheelbirks Farm North Cottage, StocksfieldCracking place, lovely location. Been back a few times. First time was just coffee and cake which was lovely. Second time an amazing full English breakfast. Best sausages ever! Recent visit... breakfast came on a cold plate which let the food down as it went cold so quickly. That said, it was still a nice visit. Keep your plates warm guys.
