“This bar has recently changed managers and chef so it is still finding its feet the brewery who owns it are imposing a lot of unnecessary and strange changes. We have been here for the Sunday Carvery twice recently and one evening meal and have not been disappointed. They have three sizes of meals, Small (£6.95), Medium (£10.95) and Large (£12.95) and is probably the cheapest in the area. 3 choices of meat and the veg is not overcooked mush. The steak pie in the evening was very tasty and the meat was very tender. I agree that the service could do with improving a little but the staff are friendly and attentive if a little bit rough around the edges. Hopefully things will smooth out soon. A good offering of well kept beers with 4 real ales on tap is also a plus but again the brewery is interfering so the range may change. Ignore the negative reviews and give this place a try.”
