“Had a lovely catch up my brother and sister in law today at The Coffee Chain in Newark. We needed a table for 4 and Lisa was very helpful in sorting a table for us and friendly. Delicious Lincolnshire sausage sandwich. We will visit again next time we are in Newark.”

“This is a lovely little cafe in the middle of Balderton just around the corner from me. I came here with some friends for a brunch. Food was absolutely exceptional and reasonably priced too. For an iced coffee, tuna toastie and a slice of cheesecake, it was just under £11! My only complaint is that the cafe is very small and you can’t fit many people in. There is parking available just outside but just be careful you don’t get blocked in by other inconsiderate drivers. Because of the cafe’s size as well, it isn’t accessible for wheelchair users but there is a seating area outside if it is a pleasant day. Overall, I will be back again as I really enjoyed it here!”

“Lovely cafe/restaurant specialising in authentic Greek cuisine and baked goods, although it offers a wide variety of cakes, snacks and meals including a very generous full English breakfast.
Green Olive is owned and run by chef-patron Kostas who finds time amid his amazing cooking to have a friendly chat with his customers. Many of these are regulars who look out for each other. So a lovely atmosphere has developed as people chat with each other across the tables.
In warmer weather it's lovely to sit out in the shade of a covered area in the picturesque market square. Indoors, the cafe offers a snug downstairs area and a cosy, well-lit upstairs with views of the market square.”

“My favourite place in Newark for delicious, healthy and beautifully prepared food. Gannets provides a great range of hot and cold drinks, gorgeous cakes made on the premises, and wonderful lunches featuring Gannets' famous salads and quiches. A lot of the food is vegetarian or suitable for vegans.
I especially recommend the amazing flapjack, full of sumptuous dried fruits, the gluten free lemon bar and the filled potato skins.
Look out too for the beautiful floral displays in the front window.
There is no ground floor loo, although there is a Changing Places fully accessible loo just across Castlegate at the back of the Registry Office.”
