Restaurants in Newark-on-Trent
Beanblock
Unit 24 St Marks Ln, Place, Newark-on-Trent, NewarkThis was a great place for lunch with younger children with the activity areas. The food menu was nice (pizza, paninis, cakes) although a little overpriced. One of our party ordered gluten free which was an extremely small sandwich, only white bread was available and it was the crust so we assume they didn't have anything left. Shame they didn't admit that and allow change to the order. This was our first visit, we will return now we know options.

Brownhills Cafe
A1, A46, NewarkGreat, I had a bacon egg tomato n coffee, good price good food plenty of parking. Only reason ice gave it 4stars is because my fussy mate likes crusty cobs which they didn't have. I'd give it 4 1/2 stars tho. Could have more of a cake selection but that's just personal preference.

Knots Bar & Restaurant
Farndon Marina, N End, NewarkA traditional pub is probably the best way to describe this. Nothing to write home about. Sunday roasts are decent but the starters and deserts are basic. I did have some extra seasoning with my dessert (parsley) which ironically although the dessert did need extra flavor but I don't think this was the right one ?My biggest gripe with this is that the interior is not exactly pristine however dogs aren't allowed in... But kids that throw food all over the place are.Parking: Park in the marina - entrance is a bit odd

Oscar's Inn
105 Balderton Gate, NewarkLate notice booking. The squeezed us in and gave us a table outside. They were really helpful throughout. The night was a bit rainy, but we were dry under the gazebo. The staff were exceptional and the service was best I've had anywhere in Newark. In these pandemic times, the awareness and precautions were 100% correct, and all the staff were completely compliant with the rules. Again, I think the best I've seen anywhere. Staff kept checking if we wanted anything. They were always friendly and made us feel at home. Incredible service throughout. The menu tonight was just pizza..... but it was excellent, lots of toppings, and the pizzas are really massive. One between two people is enough, although it is really easy to take some home in a box if you order one each. Great experience, and 100% credit to the young waiting staff for being so good.

2 Waltham Cl, Balderton, NewarkThis is the best Asian cuisine I’ve had in years! Used for the first time tonight, everything was so fresh and had so much flavour. I’m only down in Newark visiting my mum sadly but will definitely be ordering from here when I next come up! Thankyou so much for such lovely food.

Tasty
22 Bullpit Rd, Balderton, NewarkThis is a lovely little cafe in the middle of Balderton just around the corner from me. I came here with some friends for a brunch. Food was absolutely exceptional and reasonably priced too. For an iced coffee, tuna toastie and a slice of cheesecake, it was just under £11! My only complaint is that the cafe is very small and you can’t fit many people in. There is parking available just outside but just be careful you don’t get blocked in by other inconsiderate drivers. Because of the cafe’s size as well, it isn’t accessible for wheelchair users but there is a seating area outside if it is a pleasant day. Overall, I will be back again as I really enjoyed it here!

4 Queen's Head Ct, NewarkI visited the old bakery on a busy Saturday, and had a great experience. I had the frittata, my daughter had the grilled cheese brioche and my friend had a bacon sandwich, finished off by a slice of freshly baked chocolate cake each (DELICIOUS). You can tell everything is freshly made each day with quality ingredients. This was our first visit but can’t wait to come back again!
