Knots Bar & Restaurant
Farndon Marina, N End, NewarkKnots bar has top class pub grub, it's just a shame you cannot get to it off the toe path, as farndon marina has fenced it off and the gate is fob only.I was asked how to get to it by passing people they decided just to go to the next bar on the toe path as it was easier.

25 Main St, Farndon, NewarkWent to the lovely rose and crown farndon for the first time last saturday for tea we booked for 5pm on arrival it was quiet n had a lovely rustic charm about the place and nice soft furnishings
There was 10 of us in our group amd the staff were attentive , the service felt a little slow but i think they only had 2 staff on that shift , the girls who served us were lovely and the food we had was so good we all loved our meals , definaly not your run of the mill chain pub the food was bistro level food was home cooked n freshly prepared and piping hot and great portion sizes
The food does take longer to come out than a chain pub would but when you get a fantastic meal cooked with care n fresh produce i expect a longer wait time
They were colouring books n crayons for the kids aswell
I would reccomend giving this lovely little pub a visit
Overall we loved our visit and i would definately return for future food and drinks

Tasty
22 Bullpit Rd, Balderton, NewarkThis is a lovely little cafe in the middle of Balderton just around the corner from me. I came here with some friends for a brunch. Food was absolutely exceptional and reasonably priced too. For an iced coffee, tuna toastie and a slice of cheesecake, it was just under £11! My only complaint is that the cafe is very small and you can’t fit many people in. There is parking available just outside but just be careful you don’t get blocked in by other inconsiderate drivers. Because of the cafe’s size as well, it isn’t accessible for wheelchair users but there is a seating area outside if it is a pleasant day. Overall, I will be back again as I really enjoyed it here!

Lord Ted - Pub & Carvery
Farndon Rd, NewarkLove it, it's our go to place for delicious meals or choose from the carvery. Dietey needs are well catered for, very affordable and warm and welcoming, booking is easy on the app. They also show plenty of sports too.

The Buttermilk, 27 Middle Gate, NewarkWe popped in for the first time after checking out the menu and were very pleased. We have a sister bar in West Bridgford, so knew it was going to be good. Newark was wet n windy but Tambo was busy and looked cozy. Service was great, a simple selection from the app and drinks were quuckly on the way. The food selection is varied and a bit different to standard pub fare, with some asian fusion. I had the mixed skewers and they were really tasty. Breads and dips were good too. I nice warming lunch on a miserable day.

Rumbles Cafe
159 Boundary Rd, NewarkExcellent cafe, dog friendly, and good staff.
We are Regulars with our dogs ?, there's seating outside when the weather permits, though limited seating inside for the wetter and colder days, but has never been a problem.
The food is freshly cooked up till 2pm and is good, plus hot Pastys and Sausage rolls served all day.
The staff are helpful and friendly, and some times have treats for the dogs, ( and best of all they are a Charity ).

Newark-on-Trent, NewarkFantastic family run cafe specialising in the classic American diner experience, the staff are lovely and the food is incredible - their pancakes are every bit as good as any I've had over in the States over the years!
Minimum value is £10 for card transactions to cover their bank fees, but cash payments are the preferred option.

The Old Malt Shovel
25 N Gate, NewarkThis is a old fashioned community pub. I was a complete stranger but everyone who entered the pub acknowledge and spoke to me. At t one time they invited me to join them. On the Sunday they served up a joist of roast dinners for a really good price. The point is it was cooked fresh and on the premises. It was served up and the veg was separate from the main and sauces were also served separate. Even the children's portions. Great community atmosphere and prices especially good. I can not emphasize enough the great community atmosphere. Well done!!

Unit 1 Rubys Ave, Fernwood, NewarkJust been to the vets fernwood and the smell of desi kitchen made me go in. Lovely welcome from the young man that took my order. Me and hubby both had ZIngger burger and chips the food was delicious fresh and hot. I watched the chef cooking his currys I will definitely be back for one of them, why haven't I been there before. 100% recommend this place ?

The Maltings Retail Park, Unit D1 N Gate, NewarkI came in today with my 5 m/o who unfortunately wanted his bottle while I waited to be served one of the girls noticed and told me to take a seat and took my order and brought it over so I could settle my son. So thoughtful and went above and beyond it made my day so much brighter! Thank you to all the staff there they were great!

7 Market Pl, NewarkLovely little Greek restaurant. Popped in for lunch today, it was dog friendly and gave some treats which was lovely!
Service was absolutely brilliant. We had the gyros, one halloumi and one chicken. We thoroughly enjoyed the food. Very tasty and hot. We will definitely be back.

The Bean And Vine
5 Market Pl, NewarkMy rating is based on my expectations. I was looking for a late breakfast / brunch to tie me over till evening meal. It was the first time in this establishment for me and I found it clea, warm and welcoming. We were seated and selected SAUSAGE BACON AND EGG BAGEL with CAPPUCCINO and HOT CHOCOLATE.
Drinks were perfect and well presented, having been made by people who know their trade. The bagels arrived a little later , freshly toasted and hot with a runny egg. I do like a running egg and find it hard to get a good one these days as the key is timing of when everything comes together. The bacon was good, not to salty, and little fat was present and the Lincolnshire sausage was cut in half. I added Tom sauce and cut the bagel in half. It cut well with a nice outside crunch to the bagel. Proportions we correct as I bit into and met all the flavours n textures. This was hitting the spot well and we left feeling very satisfied.
Simple ingredients and foods cooked well by those who care are what to expect when eating here. This was my first time here, but it will not be my last. Thank you for everything.
