One of our favourite places for lunch in Newark. All food freshly prepared with a handful of specials daily. Great staff and puddings/cake to die for. Do not do sandwiches, it's light bites, tasty salads or delicious hot lunches. Cater for vegetarian, vegan and gluten free diets.

Newark would not be complete with out the institution that is Gannetts. From good coffee to good cake plus any number of tasty snacks.

Went to Gannets to try as never been there. Myself and my son went and I ordered two big breakfasts with two coffees. Price. £23. What we received was without doubt the most odd and disgusting breakfast I have ever had the displeasure of being served. The breakfast. One sausage which was not bad. Two slices of bacon that could have been off a guinea pig, a large portion of mushrooms that tasted like tinned mushrooms (though this could have just been the horrible sauce they were boiled in, which was disgusting) poured onto a bread like bun, and one poached egg. I cannot imagine where they got their idea of a large full English breakfast, but this wasn't one of those and no warning was given that I would not receive what I believed I was ordering. Overall experience was bad enough for me to leave my first review ever. Would not recommend.
