First and last time I’ll be visiting here. The drinks were nice and hot but the service greatly let down our visit. The front of house waitress wasn’t very welcoming and quite snappy whenever approached by a customer. Only time she was somewhat pleasant was when we paid, most likely because she was hoping for a tip which wasn’t deserved. I love to support independent shops and thought it would be a good idea to give this one a chance, but I was disappointed and put off from going here again.

I recently had the pleasure of visiting The Bean and Vine in Newark for breakfast, and I must say it was a delightful experience. Located in a charming centre of the city, this cafe offers a cozy and inviting atmosphere that immediately puts you at ease. One of the highlights of The Bean and Vine is their extensive breakfast menu. From classic staples like eggs and bacon to more unique options, there's something to suit every palate. The quality of the food exceeded my expectations, with fresh ingredients and flavorful combinations that left me satisfied and eager to return. In terms of ambiance, The Bean and Vine strikes the perfect balance between comfortable and trendy. The cozy seating arrangements and warm lighting create a welcoming environment, while the modern decor adds a contemporary touch. It's an ideal spot for both casual meetups with friends and quiet mornings alone with a cup of coffee and a good book. They also allow dogs which is a massive advantage point.Vegetarian options: My partner said the vegetarian option was delicious.

Had to ask someone to take our order, after been sat outside for 15 mins. Ordered breakfast and drinks. Drinks arrived promptly, after 45 mins are breakfast, hadn’t arrived. Went inside only to be told, sorry the order hadn’t been put through the till and it would be about another 30mins before our order came out. Told them not to bother as we had waited long enough. I appreciate they were busy, but this level of service just isn’t good enough

Had a morning coffee sat in the sunshine in the square watching the world go by, went back early afternoon and sat inside eating fantastic chocolate cake (also a veggie wrap with salad). Cakes were terrific, fancied (but didn't order) the mushrooms and cheese on french toast. Definitely a place to return to.

I think TBnV has changed hands at some time over Covid! The menu has shrunk a bit, but then a lot have places have had to do the same!We had breakfast, which was very good indeed and the coffee is one of the better in Newark too. Looking at other people's dishes, they also looked good so, limited or not food is a real positive. The young staff were working very hard but were always polite and attentive. When customers, including myself, started to use the table service incorrectly, the more senior (I believe) member very politely but positively gave instructions on what to do. I'm always impressed by people who can take control well.Overall, recommended ? ?

Excellent sandwich, nice tea, obviously hard to get experienced staff, but one's they had were trying hard, pleasant but failing.⁸

A funny thing to see three waitresses in such a small place. Having 7 years' experience I can confirm that 1 waitress would be more than enough for this amount of tables. And yet once they served food, they disappeared inside. The food was OK, but nothing I would go back for. Poor menu, no diversity, no imagination

Had THE most tasty decaf coffee this morning and was just wondering if the breakfast I’d ordered would live up to it for quality when Eggs Benedict appeared. Absolutely dreamy! Eggs cooked to perfection, sauce delicious and plentiful and all piping hot. And dog friendly too. A definite find!
