Only go to Newark once a year to the classic bike show. Found this gen of a pub. All four of us had a ploughman's lunch which was all they could do for us which was excellent. Great beers. Good atmosphere and service. Will go back next year.

Jason the landlord is great. But the pub is slightly spoilt by an abbresive young man serving behind the bar, usually on a friday night, who picks his nose while behind the bar when he thinks nobody is looking and also gets upset and blames you when he gives you the wrong change. Arrogant and believes his own hype. One star docked in all areas for his presence in what is essentially a brilliant pub when he isn't around.
