Ive been coming to this chip shop for many years. I'm not quite sure what's happened ? it does seem since it changed hands to ocean Palace its gone downhill. The past few months going there have been very disappointing. The chips are bland, the curry sauce is watery and the kebabs are chewy have no taste to them and cut far to thick.. We won't be going back. sorry to say.

The staff here are great, have a good level of service, are friendly, professional, and fun to talk too, quiet happy to engage in friendly banter making for a great atmosphere.The fish was delicious, curry sauce was good, and some of the chips could have done a little longer in the fryer. My daughter didn't enjoy the battered sausage, but I thought it was OK.The pizzas I've had from here in the past were tasty, and the kebabs were very nice.Kid-friendliness: They will happily serve children, I saw a few children being served while I was waiting for my fish to cook.They don't have any child items such as toilets, high chairs etc.

Missed items off the order.. Called to ask about it, and they said they hadn't wrote it down. Assured us they'd send it out on next delivery, waited over an hour and that never happened. Asked for BBQ on pizza.. got tomato. Also delivery took well over an hour.Such a shame as we'd used this chippy for years.
So, be prepared for the phone call, you will need to be patient. The man who takes your order runs your nerves by asking for your phone number ten times, never getting it right, then saying it does not matter. Further, he constantly calls you mate, which is really annoying. I finally ran out of patience with the guy and closed the phone. This has happened several times and I’ve just had it with the lack of professionalism and the basic lack of customer service skills. For a business that has been on this site for 100 years, they have learned nothing about making the transaction smooth and uncomplicated.
