Japanese • “So, finally managed to bag a table at Kushi-ya; it's small and very popular. Had to settle for lateish on a Wednesday. Well worth the wait though - food quality was very high indeed, especially for Nottingham; this place would be more at home in Shoreditch! This is a "small plates" venue, and five had us both well fed after the obligatory prawn cracker starter (which were the best we'd ever had). Very interesting, tasty combinations, expertly cooked and well deserving of Michelin's "bib gourmand". Desserts definitely not an afterthought (especially the matcha cheesecake). Very informative and enthisiastic waitress. We got out for £108 for two inc. bottle of wine, two glasses of dessert wine, and service (which was 10%; a rarity these days). That's great value for the skills on show. Planning on bringing friends and family soon...if we can get a table.”
Japanese • “What an absolute gem of a place. We were recommended by a friend of ours. A small and friendly atmosphere. Lovely service from superb staff with lovely fresh food. All of it was lovely and tasty and well all thought great value for money.We will be back again.Thank you.”
Japanese • “Came in tonight for an early birthday dinner, the service we received from Dan was fantastic. He did a great job answering questions about the menu and was very kind. Sadly we didn’t catch the name of the woman working with him but she was also lovely.The food was the best I’ve had in a long time, everything arrived relatively quickly and the quality was brilliant.Vegetarian options: One of our group is vegetarian and he had plenty of variety to choose from.”
Japanese • “Always love the Bento Box, such a good deal and variety. Great loyalty program too ? Slightly frustrating that they add the service charge to the bill instead of giving an option. Especially if I've nipped in for a quick bento box at lunch I don't feel like a tip is really necessary! Very american but can't complain.”

Japanese • “We have been going every few weeks for the best part of 2 years and the service has greatly improved over time and everything seems to run like clockwork now.The food is great value and enjoyable, the staff have always been very pleasant to us, and we look forward to our many more visits in the future!”
Japanese • “I wasn't prepared for amazing dishes or cheap food. And must admit it wasn't. Just small dishes of sushi food put on a belt and left for me which colour of plate to pick up. Different colour of plate means different price and different sort of sushi. A member of staff explained me that and left with menu card. Food really tasty but too expensive.”
“very cozy place. food was incredible, each dish got better and better as they came out. the two gentlemen who run the restaurant were very accommodating and friendly. i loved it all and will be returning. :)”
