Just visited for an afternoon tea. As always sandwiches, cakes and in particular scones were absolutely delicious. Always great service and amazing food xKid-friendliness: We brought a baby with us and we were welcomed even when the baby became a little noisy

Let down by the quality of the food. Fruit scone was a bit hard round the edges and was servedcwith catering jam/gel and squirty cream! Not traditional in any way. Teacake was quite small. A pity as its a nice looking shop in a nice setting.

Disappointing. Great setting and nice shop. The afternoon teas looked great but sadly using catering jam, more like jelly, and squirty cream on the scones is not what I expected. The scone was a little hard too. The toasted teacake was very small.

First time I've ever been in this tearoom. Busy when I arrived, but a table was available furthest away from the exit. Lots of Coronation paraphernalia in evidence & a nice vibe to the place. I ordered the fruit scone & a pot of tea. No issues there! But, I was asked to pay before any food/beverage had actually arrived at my table. I duly paid & thought no more of it. Then I realised that every other table paid when they left the premises (normal practice in most eateries). These other tables were mainly occupied by people of a certain age (OAPs) & no request for payment had been made to them prior to arrival of their orders. I'm a male, late 50's, dressed casually. But don't class myself as somebody unwilling to pay & ready to vault out of an eatery 1st chance I can get. I asked the question to a member of staff/owner. But felt that the "blustered" answer received stating everybody was supposed to pay when their drinks arrived as being very poor & quite blatantly incorrect because it wasn't in evidence at all. Lovely tea, lovely scone, lovely surroundings. But my visit was spoilt by an presumed insinuation that I looked like somebody ready to leave the premises without paying. Quite insulting really!!

Arrived to see a waitress taking another customers order so we sat down and waited to be served. We weren't really acknowledged, and after a different member of staff warmly greeted some regulars (who came in after us), and then promptly went to take the order of another group (clearly regulars) that sat down after us, we decided not to bother waiting any longer. Shame because it looks like a nice place, but it has put a damper on our day. Don't bother with this place unless you're a regular.

Inside is lovely, staff are pleasant. Just think that £12 for a cup of warm tea and a latte plus two very average cakes is too much.

What a lovely find...the coffee was great, forgot to ask what they used, the carrot cake awesome and the young lady who served us was so polite and friendly. Will certainly be back when next that way.

First of all I noticed apart from one, the reviews are very old.I called in this afternoon and was not satisfied. The pottery was old and did not match, the saucer actually said Silver Jubilee on it, the tea was weak and the fruit cake was no more than mediocre.I paid £6.00 and felt I was expensive.I cannot recommend it and will not return.

Absolutely fantastic, Dawn served us and we had a wonderful time. Afternoon Tea portions were big and fresh, so much that we had to take away some. Will definitely return again and again ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

First appearances was good. Staff was friendly, tea was good. The waitress accidentally left a black smudge on our napkin. I ordered an omlette which was £10 so expected high quality. But was far from. No toast only bread with no butter and an in seasoned salad. Wouldn’t visit again.

Normally good but waited 20 mins to order a coffee and scone then waited another 20 mins for our drinks which were cold by the time the scone arrived . Ok for coffee and scone if you have an hour to spare. We always used this place but will try elsewhere in future.
