Disappointing meal experience. Not given wine list or asked if wanted a drink - had to ask for glass of prosecco. Starters good, but one main came luke warm and without accompanying juz. Chocolate brownies were slightly dry, lacking any taste of cherries in kirsch and came with chocolate ice-cream, rather than pistachio as advertised. Shame as previous experience very good

Booked a room for one night in September but had to cancel due to change of circumstances.Although we knew the deposit was none refundable booking direct with the hotel we thought giving them 7 months notice this would have been refunded. We can’t understand that no deposit is taken by booking sites and cancellation can be made at very short notice without any penalty. This is really a warning to any future customers to book via a booking site to avoid unnecessary money loss.By booking direct with hotels saves commissions to the booking sites so surely this should be a bonus for the hotel.

Excellent hotel, room and service. Thoroughly enjoyable and we identified the murderer. What's not to

Only used the restaurant. Staff lovely and very helpful.Food delicious, was a little disappointed with the portion size. Seasonal veg on my dish was a couple of tiny carrots and two small chunks of courgette.Bar prices are London prices. £7 for a pint. Cheapest large glass of wine was £9.50 (hence the 4*)

Stopped at Ye Olde Bell for 2 nights whilst away on a course. The hotel was very nice and clean as was my bedroom which was a good size room and had a bath which at the end of a long day is heaven. For me the only thing I found was the beds were a little uncomfortable, too soft but overall a nice visit.

We booked the Relax and Rejuvenate package, which included a whole day’s use of the spa, 2 treatments, lunch in the spa dining area, dinner in the hotel restaurant, overnight stay, breakfast, use of the gym and a late checkout (midday). The spa is probably the best one we’ve been to: very relaxing environment and the staff were very helpful, and the massage was really good. Lunch was very slick. One of us had a starter and main, the other had a main and dessert; we were booked in for 2pm and were seated bang on time, and we were finished within 45 minutes allowing us to get back and maximise our time in the spa. The food was very good, well presented and hot. After finishing in the spa we checked into the hotel, hit the gym then showered and got down to the bar for pre-dinner drinks. Dinner was extremely good although having three waiting staff, each trying to take parts of our order, led to confusion (e.g. asked for a glass of red wine and was brought a bottle of white). After a sound night’s sleep in a decent (standard) room, we had a very nice breakfast; there was a good selection of cold choices and the Eggs Benedict and Full English were well cooked (nice runny eggs).Overall, a great Relaxing and Rejuvenating experience and we are already planning our next visit.
