A right con job! They offer coffee and a mince tart for £5.25 and then when you order two they tell you when you come to pay it’s only if you buy Kenco coffee! So they sell you a coffee with no real taste and a dried up mince tart but your bill is almost £13! A right rip off!!! Don’t worry there are plenty of cafes in Southwell!

This looked like a nice independent cafe. It appeared promising when we went inside. We ordered coffee from a waitress. A couple of other waiting staff also came to our table. The coffee arrived. It was weak and barely drinkable- we all agreed. Surely a cafe can serve nice coffee?

Delicious all day breakfast served promptly by polite staff. Extremely good value for money. Close to Southwell Minster.

Service and atmosphere were fine. The food was below par, though. My Lasagne didn't have any béchamel in it, sadly.

Jacket potato was very dry throughout. Definitely cooked for too long.Chilli tasted ok but the rice was very watery. The waitress was very polite but the girl behind the counter lacked customer service skills.I’d say this place was more of a tea room than a lunch time cafe.

My husband and I visited Gossips on Friday 21st July 2023 at around 10am for breakfast. We have visited Gossips for the last 10 years and like to support local businesses. However our experience this time was disappointing. My husband and I found a table and waited to be served. The lady waitress who was in charge proceeded to clear the tables and did not acknowledge us…she continued to clear and wipe the tables. There were no other customers waiting to be served! Approx 10 mins went by…then a younger girl came to take our order. We had our breakfast then proceeded to the counter to pay. ( we were the only ones at the counter paying). The waitress who ignored us earlier then said ‘was everything ok sorry for the wait’ before taking payment. So my husband and I both came to the conclusion that the waitress knew we were waiting and consciously made a decision to ignore us! We were not impressed at all.
