Great place for a Sunday roast dinner.Really nice cooked food. Not a big menu but worth it for value and taste.Would recommend.

Often come here for food, have sampled just about all the main meals on the menu, all are excellent. (Flat iron steak in particular). Puddings are spot on as well. I recommend booking to avoid disappointment. Will be back soon!

Called in on a Thursday, which happened to be steak night. I had a rib eye, and the wife went for rump. We both like it medium to well done, and thats how it arrived, and chargrilled too ! Both had a large mushroom, onion rings, salad and chips. Sauce, unusually is included in the price, i had stilton, and the wife had dyanne. Both were delicious. Price was very reasonable. There was a choice of 6 real ales, even got a couple of tasters before i decided which to have! Very enjoyable, nice atmosphere. Will be back!

Beautiful pub but very let down by staff. the two young waitress girls who portered our food were unprofessional and rather rude. Didn't seem to know much about items on the menu, responded "dunno, probably soon" when asked when food would arrive as we had been waiting a while, would have expected her to ask the kitchen, but just walked off with phone in hand. Ordered a hunters chicken that came out with almost no sauce, hard chips and warm, soft salad. had clearly been sat under heat lamps or out for too long.

Very poor service, young blonde waitress was halfway through chewing food while bringing out our plates, asked for some extra sauce and she stood in the kitchen doorway on her phone until we were all half done with our food to bring us any sauce. made a small informal complaint to a larger man with a beard on our way out and he was very uninterested and unhelpful. citing that the waitress, hettie” was new. i know this to be false as i’ve been in on multiple dates previous and seen her in

Food was excellent and definitely value for money. Service on the other hand was poor. We had to chase up a drinks order, which was then bought out wrong and after being given the desert menu no one came back to take the order. There did not seem to be any excuse for this poor service as not overly busy and well staffed.

We were on holiday in the area and picked this pub to spend new years eve at. This was a locals village pub and the locals made us feel very welcome. The food was excellent! It was all home made and tasted amazing! They even had a local band on with songs everyone could sing along too. When we are next in the area, we will definitely be heading back here

Food was great as usual but it was cold in the restaurant and the pub. Never seem to have the heating on this winter, if you like great food and like eating it with your coat on then this I can highly recommend.

A wonderfully cosy and friendly pub. We were made to feel very welcome.

As soon as you park your car you can smell the old fat. Fish and chips awful, God knows what fish it was! Burger just strange! Chips not good, service was by very surly teenagers, Old bearded bloke, with low slung jeans ( you can see his bum) serving meals, was a bit harassed. Wine syrupy. Beer still good
