What an amazing evening once again for our Christmas meal for the train team at CWP. The roast was delicious ? as was the service. First class meal and evening, would highly recommend.

Cheaper than the two Dukes. Not as much atmosphere.

Sunday lunch party of 10. Smiling service although a bit slow. Table was sticky which is always a put off. Food good though.

Went for Sunday lunch with a friend. Good service and excellent food. Well done and thankyou.

We did have a nice meal, couldn’t really fault the food, very tasty. It is a nice location. What spoilt it was the drinking crowd that made up the outside clientele. It was difficult to enjoy a meal when all you can hear is aggressive laughter and swearing from nearby table. I realise we could have said something to the staff but really I don’t think it’s my job to police their customers - it didn’t take much to hear the sort of language being used, and I didn’t really fancy making a scene. Perhaps this is the market they are going for now, though there were families eating there and the food prices suggest something a bit more than a drinking pub. Anyway we ate up, didn’t bother with pudding and got out of there. Maybe just unlucky but if you go maybe check out inside for eating.

Amazing food, had the Cote de Bouef and what a steak that was!! cooked to perfection, lovely sides could probably feed more than two with the generous helping of chips and side salad. The team working were very attentive and always looking to see how they can help, very proactive but not intrusive.Highly recommended.

Asked for a pint of pedigree looked flat refused it and next customer asked for same but they said was off. The menu was not same as website the haddock and chips was mostly batter and overcooked as were the chips. We also had the sea bream which was rather dry and the meal salty. Nobody came and asked if everything was alright.,also the table was so sticky.went last year and was superb wouldn’t go again.

What a great find. Dog friendly. Fitted in a large group at short notice. Fab food. Brilliant service. Lovely atmosphere. Would highly recommend!

Stop here very now and then usually for drinks but this time for a meal. You could argue some of the mains a little pricey compared to a town pub but we thought it was overall good value as food was lovely - pork chop and pizza, really nice gardens to sit in and cosy and quaint inside, super clean toilets, friendly staff, prompt service what more could you ask for.

Great pub tucked away in a small village.. overlooking the village green..

First ones in for lunch today so not busy, staff were friendly but the food was very disappointing. I ordered a £28 steak medium, which came pretty much raw. Had to send it back. Peppercorn sauce was like milk, with no flavour or thickness. They did redo my meal but by the time it arrived my wife had been finished for 10 mins. I sent it back and got them to take it off the bill. This has always been a really good place for lunch, so having not been for a few years thought we’d give it a try - how disappointing and won’t got back. And like others have said, no one checked if we were ok - and had to get the waitresses attention to send my food back.

Sweet old fashioned pub and friendly atmosphere, but the food is virtually inedible! Tempora squid was actually thick rock hard burnt batter. Koftas full of oil and tzatziki was tasteless and wet like it had been frozen. Suracha chicken was super dry and tasteless. We tried to gently mention all of this with no fuss but didn't get an acknowledgment and a full bill even though we sent most of it back!

What a lovely traditional country pub. Excellent friendliness and service. Lots of places to sit and still see the views. Beautiful food at reasonable prices. I've added a picture of the menu but I think it's subject to change. Plenty of outdoor seating too. Food started at 6pm.Parking: The parking is at the rear of the pub but it could easily fill up so get there early or park on the side street.

Only had a couple of soft drinks so can't comment on food etc. A lovely country pub which is very well presented, attentive staff and plenty of seating inside and out.

Lovely staff and decent prices for thier Sunday roast. However the food took a long time to come and when it did it was cold. Pudding was hot but burnt!
