Staff were just plain dumb.They got the order wrong for 1 meal and completely ignored a specific and reiterated request for 2 of the same meal.Then we were told we were liars And got a 3 pound discount on our 85 pound meal.Absolutely ridiculous and won't be going back ever.

Very generous 1 star. Had issues with 2 meals. Firstly we ordered 2 of the skewer meals..only 1 arrived. We were given the option of having my 11 year old child wait for another to be cooked whilst we all sat and ate. Secondly my partner ordered a calzone and a pizza arrived. She admitted she pressed the wrong item on the till. When we brought this up we were told 50% off those meals. We accepted. Then we were told by the manager it would only be 25%.We were then called liars. Told that because we were offered to have the added meal they couldn't discount the meal we had to halve in 2 due to them missing our meal.Staff are rude. Liars. And argumentative.Would not recommend at all.Steer clear.

I have been your customer for many years. Unfortunately, for some time now the service and food served have not been of good quality. I am very disappointed because I liked this place very much. recently I was served beer in an unrinsed glass with soap suds. I asked for a beer in a clean glass and at the end they asked me to pay for both beers and charged a high service charge. Of course, I didn't pay only because I pointed out to the waiter that he billed me incorrectly. I don't know why the quality of service and food has dropped so much - I'm very disappointed. I hope the owner of the place will do something about it. I was poisoned by beer with suds and I felt very bad. Today, when I was out for dinner with my family, we were served dry, hard chicken - it tasted as if it had been reheated from the previous day. you used to be my favorite restaurant but it has already changed - do something about it…

Went here today with my assistant manager after having a horrendous experience elsewhere in town and it was a breath of fresh air. Service was great food was great and not a massive long wait. Would definitely recommend this

It was my first visit to the Old Auctioneer. We had been told that the food was excellent and we were not disappointed. I had the sirloin steak which was tender and cooked to my liking. The service was friendly, timely and helpful. Will definitely eat here again when next in Banbury.

These guys have nailed it.The food is consistently good and the service is always friendly and quick. It’s reasonably priced and we enjoy their 2-4-1 wings night on Sundays.

Has abandoned being a pub, and only gives lip service to the bar. Setup as a restaurant, a pity, as it used to be a mix of both. That said the beer served was pretty good.

I do love coming here the wings and pizzas are amazing and the fat santa burger is pretty decent too( tad pricy but I'd say worth it).Only let down is they don't offer any sort off vegetables on the kids menus like carrot peas or broccoli. We did ask but you don't. We had a 10 month old and 5 year old who would of lnhailed some but mostly the 10 month old as there wasn't anything we could give her other than a few chips:) please think about that but still we will return.

Fabulous on every level. My first visit and it was exceptional, food to die for, good sized portions and excellent service. Sat outside as it was a lovely evening, just like being abroad. 10/10
